My DS is 6 months and I'd like to take him somewhere to get a nice picture taken. Any recommendations of a chain that does a nice job with decent prices?

My cousin actually got some adorable ones of her DD at Sears of all places.

They did some regular portraits and then some cute shots of Peyton dressed as a little angel. They are so precious. :)

Sears, Penny's, and Walmart all do good work for a moderate fee.
You get to select the photo's you like before their printed.

I actually have always had pretty good luck with our Sears.

We had our youngest DDs pics taken at Sadies, they have some really unique backgrounds and themed studios. We were very impressed with the quality and we received our finished portraits in a couple of hours. Went out had lunch, returned and they were done.
It is a chain, they have locations in:
Coral Springs, FL
Tampa, FL
Whitehall, PA
Northbrook, IL
Mall of America,MN

We usually do ours at Sears or Penney's. Tried Walmart once and didn't like it too much... the photo girl just didn't seem professional enough and seemed too rushed.

I have had many portraits of my son done at J.C. Penney throughout the years. We just had some done for his First Communion in May, and they came out beautifully.

I had one, very bad experience in Sears when DS was about 18 months. It was bad enough that I never went back.

Penney's has never rushed us and done beautiful work for the money. You can print out an on-line coupon for them. Use it to order the big package deal; it's a great value. You'll get more pictures than you'll know what to do with in that package.

I used to get the kids done at The Picture People. I love their work. They are a little more pricey than the other places mentioned, but no offense to anyone else, I think the backgrounds at some of the other places look really fake. Nice thing about the Picture People, you get actual photos in an hour.

Kiddie Kandids is also very reasonable and unlike the Picture People (who DH and I hate with a passion), there is no sitting fee. :)

We love the Picture People and always gp there with a coupon for a free sitting & free 8x10.

Our friends always go to Sears and love them.

My vote's for JCPenney!

I took my son every month for the first year of his life and have only been disappointed once and that was when a trainee was doing it.

My granddaughers last pictures were done at Babies r us and they were beautiful. My DIL got to see them the same day. She had 3 changes of clothes too. I think the price was very good but she wouldn't tell me how much.

Another vote for Kiddie Kandid. Kiddie Kandid does amazing pictures.

I agree. We have tried them all and I love BRU. They do nice black and white shots as well.

I vote for Sears (um, not just because I have worked in the portrait studio there for 7 years or so :p ). But let me also say this...every studio can have its good days AND bad days. If you go somewhere and are not happy, always give it one more shot.

We have had good luck with Olan Mills. We have a studio in our local KMart.
