We'll be at WDW on my DD's 10th b-day and want to do a special dinner. She's still young enough to want a little "magic", but she's not into princesses, at all.

I thought:

Ohana for the fun activities, but I can only get in at 8:55 and I read in another post that they'll have stopped by then.

1900 Park Fare so I can order one of the fab GF cakes - but I'm worried the Cinderella theme and whole atmosphere is too young for her.

CM - is it geared more toward younger kids? I'm afraid she'll think the placemat they do for b-days is kind of lame for her age.

I've never been to any of the restaurants, so I may be way off. I just really want to find a fun/different/special atmosphere a tween can enjoy without feeling too old (or young) for it.

If only there were a Jonas Bros restaurant! That's the real Disney to her! :rolleyes1

1900 park is really fun now with the stepsisters, so don't think it is too young. What about the Castle for dinner, it has the mice and fairy godmother, but not all the princesses. The experience it good

Did 1900 Park Fare this past trip. We wanted to try it, as had never been before, but was a bit leery, since it was me & 2 boys (7&9). My sons absolutely loved it. The Stepsisters are GREAT, as is the Stepmother. One Stepsister came to our table while my eldest was getting some pizza. When I told her that one of our party was missing , she simply asked his name. When I told her his name, she proceeded to SCREAM across the room for him to come back for a picture. He can be a bit shy, but came back laughing hysterically. We have a great picture of her with the boys, and I'm sure it will be a lasting memory.

Disneyfan2, it's too late for us to get reservs at the Castle now, but thanks for the idea! Maybe next time I'll try for that ADR in time.

Wolf2961, I'm so glad to hear your story. If 2 boys of that age had fun, I know my DD will, too! So I'm going to go with 1900 PF and get a GF cake I saw on the cake thread. :yay:

Thank you both!

Were also doing a 10th Birthday! DD picked out Chef Mickey's for her actual birthday night. We are also doing 1900 on the first night of our trip (where we will get a cake to celebrate and have for the rest of the week) and CRT for breakfast on her birthday morning.

For my son's 9th birthday we are doing Crystal Palace breakfast and Ohana dinner.
