Where to go first?

We are planning 10 nights for next July. We are going to stay at POR (where we stayed this month). If my husband and I both meet a goal we are going to reward ourselves with a stay at WL for 2 or 3 of the days. I assumed that we would stay at the mod first and then to the deluxe, but I am wondering if I will be too anxious about getting to the WL. Would you stay there first? We know what to expect at POR and we love it there so I don't think we will be disappointed or let down with that part of our stay.

Do WL at the end of your stay. That way, you will have probably done all of the parks and can just relax and enjoy the resort. And if you're a Parkaholic like my family, it's great access to MK for those "gotta do that attraction just one more time before we leave".

You will love WL. We stayed there in January and it's awesome !

I agree, do the WL last. I have never stayed there but saw it up close on our return from lunch at Trial's End last month. It really is a great looking resort from the outside.

I agree WL at the end of the stay! You've never been disappointed before with POR so why chance it now. Trust me there is def a difference b/w mods and deluxe resorts!

Totally agree - save the Deluxe for last. We moved from YC to a Moderate in June. NEVER again!!! I love the Moderates, but believe me, you'll only be disappointed if you go there from the deluxe.

Thanks for all the input. Going to the deluxe last was my original plan and I guess I just needed a little reassurance. :sunny:

Now we both have to meet our goals. :sunny:

Good for you! I also would do WL last. You will enjoy the ENTIRE trip. There are merits of POR as well. Very beautiful grounds, nice food court, great pools!

We look forward to your trip report!

Hey...what happened to the Dancing Banana! :confused3

Good choice because if you did it first you would not want to leave! We love the Wilderness lodge it is beautiful!!!

Yep, I think you're right! I believe they move them around from time to time; maybe to make sure we're paying attention?!!!!

I love WL and I love POR. But, just be aware...WL isn't the same type 'deluxe' that the others, like GF, BW, YC/BC, etc., are. Yes, it has a boat to get to MK, but the rooms are about the same size as POR, and the beds are doubles, I believe. Unless you get the double bed/bunkbed set-up. The pool is wonderful but not so much more wonderful that I would stay there rather than a moderate. WC is terrific though. Roaring Forks is okay, imho, but I prefer a true food court. Of course WL does have Artist Point, one of my favorite restaurants on-site.
All this being said...I would also go with POR first and then WL.

What if someone has a "short attention span" or is a "creature of habit"
like me! :rotfl:

I had read that the rooms were only about 30 sq. ft. larger than the mods, but that the beds were queens. Does anyone know if this is right?

We ate at WC this month and it was my husband's favorite restaurant of the trip. The only deluxe that I have stayed at was BWV (studio) back in 98. I was not that impressed so the WL doesn't have much to stand up to for me.

What is Artist Point like? Is it geared towards adults?

I could very well be wrong about the bed sizing...it has been known to happen. Too many times to count in fact. :rotfl: But, we love Artist Point. My dd stayed at Neverland Club at the Polynesian while dh and I ate at AP. It was really wonderful. But, there were plenty of children there. It just wasn't hugely noisy as some other spots can be. My dd would probably have liked it, even if she is somewhat 'discriminating' in her food choices....read pickey!!!!
She and I ate at WCC last month and both loved it..well, until she got up with the other kids and had to canter around the restaurant. Somewhat mortifying for her. It is a beautiful resort. I'm sure someone who has stayed in the rooms can give you the lowdown on beds....
I wouldn't put a studio in the same class as a deluxe room. There are differences. I love the villas...any size, but I'm not big on the deluxe amenities, so it doesn't make much difference to me if they are provided or not.
