We are leaving in a couple days for our first DVC stay at VGF--but won't active our PAP until Friday. I'd like to get the TIW card before our Hoop-De-Do reservation on Thursday night, so I wondered if there was anywhere (besides the parks) to get this???

Maybe at DTD?

If memory serves, they were not available through DTD it had to be Guest Services at a park, I tried DTD first. I went to HS and it was the window near the bus stops so I didn't have to go in to park or even by security/bag check. They just needed to see my AP or DVC card and it was quick and painless.

This was in 2010 so it may have changed since then but that was my experience :)

Downtown Disney Guest Relations does it, I get mine there every year - for the last 3-4 years. Got last one in August.
You can also go to any Guest Relations at the parks.

I purchased my TIW membership at DTD Guest Services in July 2014.

Yes you can buy them at guest relations at DTD. However, you must have an active AP to buy it. You can't buy it on a voucher. Since you are DVC you can buy it if you bring along your DVC member card.

Glad to hear they changed it to include DTD! I bought mine in May 2010 so not surprising with the expansion to DVC they made it a little easier to get :)

The easiest place for you to get your TIW card between VGF and Hoop De Do would be at Guest Services outside of the MK. You can monorail or boat to MK and go to guest services outside the park(no entrance needed). and then take the Fort Wilderness boat to get to Hoop De Do.

The above is true...all parks have Guest Service locations both inside and outside the park gates. No need to enter the park. Sometimes they do get crowded though.

Anyone know how much it is now if buying when you have an AP? I think it was $100 last year when we bought it. TIA!

ETA:
Actually, I just found the price at Allears and it's $100 for Ap holder or DVC member, or $125 for Florida Resident.

Excellent! Thank you....I'm going to definitely enjoy being that close to the MK on this trip.
