Where to get my digital photos printed?

Just got back from WDW recently and, of course, took tons of pictures. I have never used any digital photo printing services before and am wondering where I should go before investing big bucks on a photo printer myself.

Would you recommend I get it done in a store in the neighorhood or use services provided by places like www.ofoto.com or photos.yahoo.com?

Thanks for the advise.

I have never used any of the internet sites.

I print my own at home.

Another option would be to visit a Ritz Camera or other camera store. They have some pretty good deals for printing pictures.

Good luck and let us know how your choice worked?

I've used both ofoto and shutterfly and have liked the quality from both places. Most of the time, though, I print them at home -- you'll really appreciate a good photo printer at home with a digital camera. :):)

Wal-Mart - 29 cents per 4x6 print - ready in an hour (even when I had 250 WDW trip photos :teeth: )

I've been very pleased with the prints I get at Wal-Mart.

Edited to add: I have a photo printer too. Steve is right. You'll probably want to check into getting one. It's great when you only need a few prints.

I've been very happy with ofoto.com in the past, but now I have a photo printer. :)

Note: if you use Walmart they may want you to leave your memory card unless you download the prints to your computer and then save them to a disc. I'm funny about wanting to leave my memory card where it could get lost.

I usually use Shutterfly or Ofoto, because I can order whenever I want. I don't like to have to make a trip to Walmart. Wish they'd let me upload them to their store.

We have been through several printers and still we get the best prints from Walmart.com My DW uploads them and usually get them in a matter of a few days. We are very particular about those precious WDW photos so we want them to be the best we can afford.

I would never leave my memory card at Wal-Mart or anywhere else! Especially if it was the only copy of the photos I had!!

I download all my digital photos to my hard drive (where they stay) and then burn them onto cd's for permanent storage. Then I reformat the memory sticks to use again. Even at that I make a separate copy of the cd to drop off at Wal-Mart.

Usually I just print them myself, but I had out last set from WDW done at Photo Works. I have been mailing my film to them for years and they had just introduced the digital service. It took a bit longer than promised because they got a bigger response than anticipated, but they appoligized and gave me discounts, and the pictures were wonderful.

Another vote for Shutterfly. I just placed another order this past weekend for 114 prints. Sadly, they weren't from WDW however. :(

You can catch the sales they often run --- or do a pre-pay plan to save some $. I did the pre-pay plan, then 5 minutes later, ordered my 114 off that plan. :)

You can always do a few prints from different services to compare. Most places give you the first X for free.

But then of course you'ld have to wait to order the rest of your WDW prints --- and who could wait?!?!?

The biggest difference I see in the companies is in flesh tones.

I just got a digital camera and have yet to use anyone's services, but a friend recommended Costco to me.
