Where to get magic bands?

Not staying on property. Is there more of a selection buying them online or better to buy there at disney springs? They are running 14.99 and up online plus shipping.

MagicBands aren’t necessary as you can use the hard plastic tickets to enter the parks and FP lines.

You can buy MBs in shops in the parks and DSprings for a wider selection.

The store at Space Mountain has a relatively large selection as far as in park stores go.

In the magic kingdom on Main Street when you get to the first shop on the left the magic bands are on a wall. Unless they moved them again.

They also sell magic bands at the Disney shops at the Orlando airport.

They will still be $14.99 and up, but no shipping.

When are you going? ShopDisney usually has free shipping (no minimum) on holidays. Labor day is coming up, and I know the past few years they have done free ship on Veteran's day.

It has been 10 years since we have been at Disney, so this Magic band is all new to me. This trip, for the first time, we are not staying on site. So, if we want a magic band we purchase correct? If no magic band we can still get fastpass, correct?, so what is advantage of having the magic bands please?

I don't think there really is an advantage if you're staying off-site, other than the convenience of not having to fish out the plastic ticket for entry and FP rides. But they look nifty, and make a decent souvenir.

Onsite, though, they're linked to your room - function as a key, linked to your account (if you want) so you can use them for purchases in restaurants and shops, as well as being your entry and FP 'ticket'

I found it more convenient than reaching into my pocket, and as @Mousemom234 said, it’s a nice souvenir. I bought one on my last offsite visit.

There’s also a couple features like showing your name on Its a Small world and the photo on 7 Dwarfs that only work if you have a Magic Band 2 (they don’t sell Magic Band 1 anymore).

There’s more detailed instructions inside the packaging but the upshot is that if you go to the My Disney Experience website and click manage magic bands, there’s a button that says link.
