We are going to WDW in December. My son loves to trade. I am looking to pick up about 50 pins each -- for two boys -- so they can just trade til their hearts are content (but would prefer not to pay $30 for six pins at WDW). They don't really care what pins they are .... they just want to have them to trade at the parks.

I've looked at several of the posts here but it seems most of the legit ones seem to have smaller quantities.

What is the best way to go about trying to find a legit source for getting the authentic pins to trade? I don't want our boys to be part of getting the fakes out there...

Suggestions most welcome ...

Hello - As an avid trader, I also understand that you have to start somewhere. However, I never recommend buying in large quantities online - you tend to find a lot of scrappers. This is not to say that some reputable sellers will sell in large quantities, but for those you are looking at about $100 for 50 pins.

When I first started, I received 1 starter kit with lanyard and 4 pins. I also had my Dad purchase 3 Hidden Mickey packets (at the time onlly $3.50 for 2, but I know this has most likely changed). This gave me 10 pins to trade that I wasn't fully attached to, but still a lot of fun! Then when you come down the next time, bring those same 10 pins and but 4 more hidden mickey pins. It will make it more of a tradition.

This way there aren't scrappers circulating for those who really enjoy this hobby and you will get some quality pins!

Don't be worried that the boys won't have enough pins to trade - 10 will be great for the first time!!

If you have a vehicle, check the two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. There is one on Kirkman Road and one on I-drive. Lately the I-drive store has had a better selection and last month that had a bunch of pins for .99 each.

Anywhere on the Disney Property has starter kits. If you are looking for more specific ones, I would check out the pin trading kiosk in DTD. It has a wide variety of items.

Or DisneyStore.com has some great finds on starter kits this week!
