Hubby and I have just returned from our first DCL cruise on the Wonder. We are ready to plan another! Our time is limited in that I am a medical student.... so I can only go over 1) Christmas break or 2) spring break or 3)a period in June after the boards.
We have 3 frequest flyer tickets so getting to a port shouldn't be a problem.

Where do you suggest we look for prices and there any other specifics we should consider/look for? The last cruise was a gift for our weddiing. We did the Wonder and would be happy to do it again, but NAssau did nothing for either of us. Any recommendations given a tight time frame? When onboard we looked for Christmas cruises but were told the only option was a 10 day :(

disneycruise.com..can give you the cruises/itineraries/dates..then all you have to do is choose someone to book through.

We use micdan.com...always low rates.

Good luck, I know you want to escape IL during the winter..lol.

X3 for All Seasons Travel. Website-www.allseastravel.com

I have had some pretty sticky situations with my family and multiple bookings and such. They handled EVERYONE'S questions with professionalism and tact.

Customer service there can't be beat!!

Did u book onboard ?

that is were u get the best deal..
Stateroom Credit and 10% discount..

then u can take that and transfer it to
another Company to get any discounts they may offer

We use Dreams

I think most folks try AAA, DCL direct, All Seasons and Dreams Unlimited for prices. Give them all the same itinerary (insurance or transfers) and then compare.
I've found on the three cruises I have booked that All Seasons had the lowest prices. My first cruise I didn't know any better and paid rack price from a local travel agent. Live and learn :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Hygiene99 is correct. Your best price is always going to be onboard bookings. You normally get a 10% discount plus an onboard credit.

I booked last July for this August and received a $400 onboard credit since it was a new itinerary (San Juan) and they were trying to attract business.

Outside of that I would get a quote from all of the travel agents mentioned. I do prefer www.micdan.com.

Check out the deck plans to get a good idea of what category you want and if possible what room. Some rooms are discounted because they have a obstructed view.

Knowing the ship and its rooms can save you a few dollars.

we have been very happy with Costco Travel, but you need to be a Costco Member, they were much lower than AAA, which really surprised me!

We too got the best price from All Seasons Travel. I got quotes from a few different travel agents and theirs was the best.

Once you know the exact sailing dates you want and stateroom type, call a few TA's a see what you get. Let us all know!

Good luck!:D

I want to add something. Getting the lowest quote, is not always the best deal. I like to deal with a compnay that is easy to reach, helpful and patient. Knowledge and experience have no dollar value, but they certainly have worth when you need a question answered.

The best customer service I've recieved is from All Seasons Travel. They also happened to have the lowest quote.

Since you are no longer on board and that is obviously not an option at this point, shop around. The four listed above along with DCL should give you a large price range. Not any one agency is necessarily going to have the best price all the time. Good luck.

I found the best price with Travelocity, but customer service was nothing to write home about. I'd use them again now that I've been on the cruise and know exactly what I want, however. They were very prompt in getting me my cruise documents and everything went without a hitch once we arrived at port. 7seas travel online also has some of the lowest prices I've seen, but I haven't personally booked with them. If you're traveling with a small group, only booking 1 cabin, and know pretty much what you want, I wouldn't hesitate booking with an online agency. Booking with Disney directly is probably the highest price you'll pay, and AAA is pretty pricey too.

Have used mouseearsvacations.com and AAA. Both have given us onboard credits and stateroom gifts. Both did a good job with good rates.

We too used All Seasons. they were great! We got beautiful rooms and each of our three rooms had a gift from the travel agent waiting in them. they were by far the cheapest-I price compare til the eyes are blurry! They are top quality and very professional.

Note that DCL's 10% off pricing when booking a future cruise is ,in my experience ,still way more than than what my TA (Cruiseone) typically quotes me...(10% off DCL's pricing is no great bargain)...The $200.oo stateroom credit is nice though....Luckily, you can book onboard, and transfer the res, get better pricing and still secure the $200.00 credit....

If you have specific times, book those now before that cruise fills more.
I just finished my first cruise and found out all about this.

The prices go up as that specific cruise fills. I waited to book onboard to get the 10% off, but meanwhile over the 5 weeks before my cruise, the next one I wanted almost filled, and the prices went up 40% Im guessing. SO, I ended up at least 30% behind the eightball by waiting (and the $200 ship credit doesnt put a dent in the losses.)

You sound like you want some popular times, so book EARLY.

SO, even if your not sure WHICH of those timeslots you will take, book a trip on 2 or 3 of them (only $200 each to deposit), then over the next few months nail it down and cancel the other ressies at least 60 days before their sail date for full refund of the deposit.
