A few years ago we did the wishes dining and had a lot more restaurants to choose from....and had some awesome meals.....
Now we are doing the dining plan and it seems to be limited....where should we go for Filet?

Thanks! :bounce:

The best fillet I've had at WDW is the Mushroom Filet at Le Cellier in Canada...I don't know how they do it but that thing is incredible - I think about it for weeks after I return home! :goodvibes

Le Cellier
Off the dining plan (well 2 nights' credit) I would say Yachtsman or Jikos

We went to Flying Fish on the boardwalk and my daughter doesn't like fish, so she order the filet mignon...AWESOME!!!! If and when I go back...forget the fish...I'm getting the filet mignon!!!

I was on a filet quest during the September dining plan trip. I had it at the following:

CRT/dinner
Kona's Cafe
LeCellier
Concourse Steakhouse

Needless to say, I'm still looking for a great filet. All were adequate, but nothing I would recommend to anyone. (And I ate it at Kona's Cafe and CRT/Dinner, twice--we even had a second ressie at LeCellier, but the family was not wowed and didn't want to eat there again--they all like Kona's Cafe better.) I think I need to look beyond the 1TS to Yachtsman or Jikos, I get good reviews from others from those 2 places.

The filet at the Brown Derby is awesome!!! I'm not a big filet person but my niece got it in 2003, so when we went back in 2004 I had to have it. Cooked to perfection for me.

Slightly (ONLY slightly) unconventional suggestion, but the absolute, best, melt-in-your-mouth Filet Mignon my DH and I have ever had, in our entire lives was at: Teppanyaki in Epcot! I can't recommend this highly enough (had it there last month) -- already dreaming about having it again in 12/06.

Jiko and the Hollywood Brown Derby. Excellent filets - each had a special sauce.

Another vote for Brown Derby. I usually don't like steak; I will sometimes have a bite or two of DHs if he gets filet but it's not something I would ever order for myself. I had a bit of DHs at Brown Derby and oh, wow - that was the best steak I'd ever tasted. Next time we go that is what I am getting!

A lot of these are two credits. One of the reasons Le Cellier is so popular is that it is a good steak for one credit. My husband is a big steak eater. Steaks he ate last trip in order of preference....

5. Kona Cafe - the terriyaki. Not a great cut of meat.
4. Le Cellier - the mushroom filet. Very good for the price
3. Teppanyaki - the filet teppan meal. tender steak with almost no seasoning
2. Flying Fish (2 credits)
1. Jiko (2 credits) - melt in your mouth - one of the best steaks he has ever had.

To me it isn't a surprise that the best steaks were at the two credit restaurants. Although several years ago we thought the steak at Le Cellier better than the steak at Narcoosees, but that was back when Le Cellier still served Canadian beef.

Of course, there is no accounting for taste, some people think Outback is better than Ruth's Chris.

We had lunch at le cellier and I had the petit filet and it was the best steak I've had at disney, there was no fat, tasty, and very filling for the size of it.
So I've gotta go with le cellier.

I thought that Le Cellier was going to be 2 credits? Is it really 1 table service credit? That would be so neat!

I really enjoyed the filet at California Grill! :earsgirl:

I keep reading about Le Cellier becoming 2 TS credits. When? When I booked our ressie there for 4/06, it was 1 TS.

We had both the Filet and the KC strip at Le Cellier Christmas day and both were totally awesome, in fact the whole meal over all was our best this trip, and we had many great meals!!

I thought the one at Le Cellier was good...until I ate at Jiko! :sunny: The filet at Jiko was the best steak I've ever eaten, and the chicken flatbread was very yummy too!
