I have never had alcohol but last month when we were at animal kingdom I saw they had a chocolate martini on the menu and I wanted to Try one since I love chocolate but didn’t do it. We will back staying at boardwalk in 2 weeks and I am going to try one this trip. Is there anywhere else besides animal kingdom that serves a good chocolate drink, preferably one around the crescent lake area. Guess another question since I don’t drink is can most lounge areas make a chocolate martini or a chocolate drink?
thanks for any info.

Right now, the Ale & Compass restaurant at the YC has a Chocolate Martini.

While it isn't on their menu, I'm 99.9% sure that Flying Fish could make a chocolate martini (and it would be awesome). They have an excellent peanut butter/chocolate dessert drink on the menu if that's of interest.

I imagine it must seem weird to walk up to the bar if you don’t drink, but if you’re willing to do so at BelleVue, Flying Fish, or Abracadabar - or anyplace similar - and explain what you’re interested in, they’d be happy to help, and create a chocolate drink with minimal booze. the people working the bars at these places love to get creative, mocktails included!

Martinis are usually alcohol heavy. It's not a drink I would recommend for someone who has never had alcohol. I would ask the bartender to make you a chocolate mocktail and leave out the word martini! Most of the bartenders are quite accommodating. :wizard:

Thanks for all the help, I turn 50 in March, and our 25th wedding anniversary is this Month so I figure this is the perfect time to have my first (minimal) alcoholic drink to celebrate both. My worry is I might make a vacation tradition if I really like it but hey 3-4 drinks a year can’t be too bad :)

There are 2 types of Martinis traditional made with Gin which is a more lemon tasting alcohol and a martini made with Vodoka Which seems to be the more popular one. Vidoka to me is bitter and can sort of taste like what rubbing alcohol smells like although if you are willing to pay (yeah well) there are smoother Vodokas. Either way a martini is nothing more than alcohol in a glass with a small amount of flavoring If desired. With regular drinks Disney is very light on liquor they measure it and that is a good thing for you 😂 if you like sweet perhaps a drink with rum woukd be a good start as it is not a harsh tasting liquor. I however am not sure how well it will mix with chocolate but it goes very well with coke 🤷‍♂️. To me many drinks are way too sweet and that can be a big turn off. if you want light liquor maybe a Gin with lemonade or Gin and Tonic which is sort of like Tonic water with lemon. Both are also very good summer drinks and basic to see if you like liquor then you can build on it once you know at least which liquors you like. If you are looking for a drink that does not taste like liquor order one without as they just add a base liquor that adds the flavor of the liquor itself.

You’re better than me, haha!! I would speak with the bartender or your server and explain what you are after - chocolate, light alcohol - and let them do some magic :). Hope you enjoy! Happy birthday and anniversary!

We had one at the Boardwalk that they call The Shadow. Its a chocolate martini and they add Chambord. They said one of their bartenders there came up with it years ago. It's my fav chocolate martini on property.

I have had it at Olivia's - late in the evening with dessert.

While the bars and lounges do have menus with signature drinks, any bartender should be able to make something more common or simple off-menu, like a chocolate martini. Zero-proof cocktails (aka mocktails) are also now extremely popular, so they probably have a wide array of fun things they can make without the liquor.
