Is there a good quality WDW scrapbook out there that is cute? I don't need it for awhile, but I'm thinking of getting a nice plain CM one if I can't find one. I'd much rather have a Disney cover. Thanks for your suggestions!

you can buy some at WDW, or through www.mousememories.com but I'm not sure if I'd call them good quality - they are a ring binder - not quite 12x12 and if you put in too many page protectors then they start to tear. I would say they were ok for 15 pages but if you are going to be adding more page protectors then they aren't really up to the job.

Bev is much more polite than I am about the WDW scrapbooks that are out there....I used one, I hate it. Mine was falling apart less than a year after my trip. I'm going to have to redo it. (Actually I'm going to pull out all the pages and put them in CM portrait sleeves....not a lot of work but a lot of $...even for a consultant!).

My pages pop out (slide off the rings that don't hold together), the design sticker on the cover is peeling up and the writing on the cover is rubbing off. I'm quite upset that Disney is selling a piece of junk like this!

I honestly can recommend that you use whatever good quality album you like instead of the Disney made ones. If you're using CM maybe you can find an embosser to put a Disney design on your cover? Hmmm...that's actually a good idea. I may look into it myself! My current WDW album is in a CM Navy 12x12.

You peaked my couriosity on this one! What do you mean

Is that something sold by CM I know I say where you could buy something to put a title on it but I thought that was it and very small in size. Have you used it? (the title thing)?

PammyJo, I bought a Disney album awhile back that I was so excited about...luckily I never got around to filling! LOL When I finally got into scrap booking I hooked up with CM and the two books didn't compare so I will never use it. I have it tucked away for my DD It will work great for her! Next birthday she will be 7.

Well, CM does have an album ID kit that you can buy, but that wasn't what I was referring to. The Album ID kit gives premade titles that can be put on the spine of the album (or the cover, I guess, if that's where you want it), but they are quite generic.....You could do "Vacation 2002" or something like that with the kit. Its nice, but not fully customizable. (is that a word?)

What I was referring to was a professional embosser who can do pretty much the same thing, but with more flexibility. One website available is www.goldstamp.com

They will emboss CM album covers as well as the CTMH leather ones. I'm not sure what all the options are.

I appreciate your honest replies. Sounds like I'll be much better off buying a CM one. I like the idea of getting it embossed and I have a friend who gets her children's names embossed on hers, so I'll ask where they are done. Good ideas, thanks again!

For my next trip (only 4 weeks today!!!) I've order a SIAS album - I've never used them before, but I thought the lipstick red swirls were very disneyish, although I've actually ended up with a bright yellow one as the red was out of stock.

My WDW one doesn't sound as bad as Lesley's - the cover is fine, and although I've had to take a pair of pliers to the rings, since I've done that the pages aren't slipping out, but the page protectors are definitely too flimsy and they will rip at the holes.
it's a shame because I really love the design, mine is the 4 parks one world design. The most annoying thing about it, is the very odd size - it's 11 1/2" x 11 1/4" I think - not square, so even if I moved the pages ,they wouldn't look right in a true 12x12 album.

Bev, I haven't seen the SIAS albums. The swirls look like great Disney albums. I wasn't able to find a good description on the site. I know you use the Dalee albums, as I do too. How do they compare?

Chessie - I don't really know, this is a leap of faith as I have had to mail order it (but then I mail order everything) - the girls on 2 peas seemed to think they were ok, so I hope they are right!

They are supposed to be true 12x12 top loading and I am hoping the page protectors are nice and thick like the Dalee one's other wise I will be complaining.

Maybe you could find a consultant nearby who could show you one?

Bev
