The one thing I have not bought on my sons back to school list is 12 rolls of double sided tape. Does anyone know a place cheaper than target ($4 a roll) to buy it? Do you think they sell this at the dollar store? We have one half an hour away that I could check. It needs to be the rolls with the despensers so not just the rolls themselves. I can't believe he needs 12 rolls and that each kid needs to bring this in.

thanks, J.

That has to be a typo! are you sure it wasn't supposed to be a 1/2 inch wide roll of double sided tape?

I would call the school or e mail the teacher.

I also think it must be a typo.

I don't ever recall needing that kind of tape for school, but 12 rolls-rediculous!

What on earth would that be needed for? As a teacher, I can't imagine asking for even 1 roll of double sided tape!

i'm thinking the same thing as everyone else, this MUST be a typo. what in the world would your child need TWELVE rolls of double-sided tape for???

If this is your first something you also learn as you do this a few times is just because it is on the list doesn't mean they have to have it the first day if you have a question.

If you can't find out from the school or an e mail to the teacher I would wait till he gets there. (or buy 1 roll if it makes you nervous not to)

What grade is this for? Is the teacher using it to stick the kids in their chairs?

Then they must be a first year teacher, experienced teachers know duct tape works soooo much better.

First I would double check the quantity.

I always buy my double sided tape at the dollar store (Dollar Tree). I use it to wrap gifts.

Thanks, On the supply list double sided tape is listed 4 times and it all adds up to 12 rolls! I bought one roll and sent that in. I will send the rest in if I get a note from the teacher. Its for 6th grade. The teacher was nice and sent back about $20 of supplies that they don't need this year so maybe something is wrong with the list.

Jen.

It has to be a typo. Even with only 20 kids in the class, that would be 240 rolls of double sided tape. We have 180 days in our school year, so 1 1/3 rolls per day:rotfl2:

I wish parents would wait until open house to get the supply list. Our general list is so off what I need/want. This year a lot of my parents waited and I actually told them I don't need anything. We have so much left from last year, don't have room to store more, and don't want parents to spend money they don't have to. We'll just send out a wish list when we run out of markers or kleenex.

Duh...EVERY parent knows that duct tape works better for that...and 1 roll will do you just fine...

Kidding...I'm really just kidding...

seriously - I would get one roll and be done with it. Unfortunately - I'm a crafter, and as best as I can tell - 3M is it for double stick tape.

obviously I responded before I read all the posts -...

HATE when that happens...

I'm seconding the recommendation for Dollar Tree. I was able to get a roll of 2X sided tape there, after gasping at the Walmart price for Scotch brand.
One caution, don't get the Roseart (I think that's the name) crayons from Dollar Tree or elsewhere. Any five year old and any kindergarten teacher will tell you that they are too waxy.
