Where to find healthier options in the parks?

Any tips on finding healthier/lower calorie options inside Disneyland and CA? Don't get me wrong, we plan to be eating plenty of junk most of the time,, but we will be there for 5 days and I want to try to eat healthy/lighter SOME of that time. Any tips/suggestions? Thanks!

Portion control is key. :thumbsup2 If that's not an option then choose salads but be aware of what's on them and the dressing. Chicken Caesar Salad's are super high in fat for example. They do have fruit stands at $1.79 a banana. :faint: Stay away from fried goodies like onion rings, leave sauces for sandwiches on the side. Even sweet potato fries are fried and not much better of an option as regular fries though portrayed as such. Choose turkey or chicken over beef if an option. Share meals and treats.

Does anyone know what the dressing options are? Any chance they offer a low fat/ fat free ranch, or is that something I should pack in with us?

I would guess there is a fat free option but truly don't know. I don't like fat free dressings. You may be able to get o&v at the table service restaurants. If you have those little portable packets they might be worth carrying in if you're that serious about eating low fat.

Virtually every restaurant now has healthier options. Also, you can generally get fruit instead of fries at most locations now.

I ate at Plaza Inn last night and got a side salad and asked for packets of Ken's fat free Italian dressing. It is 20 calories per packet. I also order a side of green beans - not completely fat free since they have a ton of butter I'm sure - but better than the alternatives available. :)

Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at DCA has a field greens salad that is very healthy as well.

Aside from the fruit options and salads already mentioned, they have a great fresh fruit plate at the French Market Restaurant in NO square. The Tomorrowland Terrace has yummy turkey wraps made with a spinach tortilla.

I gained 10 pounds there last year in 5 days, ughhh!!! I can't wait to hear all the options here. Thank you for posting this!

For our trips we have groceries delivered to the hotel. We order lots of fruits and veggies (apples, bananas, baby carrots, etc) to snack on in the room and to throw in our bags. It helps cut down on many of the diet pitfalls in the park.
