DH and I will be down in Disney at the end of August and when we were looking through people's postings of their food (everything looked so delicious), someone posted a picture of a reuben on marbled rye and DH got very except but it was from the sci-fi dine in at DHS and we were not planning on eating there. Are there any counter service places that have a reuben?

We love the Reuben at sci fi! We have an ADR at the plaza in the MK. They sell them but I have not had one there yet so I can't speak for that. Hopefully it's as good as the one at sci-fi! :)

I don't know of any CS locations with a Reuben... but my mother really likes both the ones at SciFi and Plaza mentioned by PP.

I can't comment on the quality, I'm not a big fan of the Reuben.

allearsnet.com has a Reuben Panini on the menu for Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, BUT I don't know how up-to-date it is. Has anyone been recently and can confirm/deny the reuben at SS??

Hope you don't mind me asking- what is a Reuben? I'm from the uk and have often seen it on a menu in Usa but never knew what it was:confused3

A Reuben is a sandwich made from sliced corned beef deli meat, swiss cheese, saurkraut, and thousand island dressing grilled on rye bread.

Grand Floridian Cafe... It's on the lunch menu. Description and price are from 5/11. Not sure if you can get it for dinner or not.

My wife and I have had it. Really enjoyed it too.

Thanks for the advice, maybe we will try to find the one in Epcot or at the resorts. I am not a big reuben fan either but DH loves them. Travel fanatic is he tries the one at the plaza ill let you know how much he love it.

DS(14)'s favorite sandwich! He's had it at SCI-FI, ESPN, Grand Floridian, Sunshine Seasons. He never complains about his food, so I don't really know if he had a favorite, but at 14 he always eats as if it were his last meal!

The only places I have had it is The Plaza and Sci Fi....I think ESPN has one too

I've been looking at the menu for all these places, and every place sounds good I wish we had more time. Whatever we do not fit in there will also be next time. :)

Was not impressed at all with the Reuben at ESPN...would not order again.

Ah, just asked DS which was his favorite and he said SCI-FI & the Grand Floridian. ESPN's was fatty and stringy!

I just looked again at the Grand Floridian menu again and the reuben there is served with a marinated cucumber salad and has a key lime tart for dessert. If I brought DH there I may never get him to leave

I love ruben sandwiches but can't say I recall having any at WDW. I'd worry that someone from NY might find them severely lacking. The rubens I've had in NY had enormous stacks of delicious corned beef on them(literally a pound or two) At WDW that won't be the case. :earsboy:

Thank you for the disclaimer :) we understand it will not be like the ny style deli ones. Being a nutritionist I am also glad about the size being smaller because no one person should ever eat a pound (or two) of meat at one time and DH probably can if given the opportunity, haha at least he won't have the opportunity.
