We've looked at David's and not found anything quite right so I need more suggestions. I told my niece I'd buy her gown. Here's the important info:

She's 21, 5'6" and wears a size 14ish. She had a baby in August (the MOST adorable little guy EVER but I digress) and still has weight to lose. She's pretty busty.

The wedding is in March, she seems to like cap sleeves and flowing empire styles and wants a train. I told her the budget was $500 but I can flex on that. I think I can find a lovely gown in her style for less than that. She's only wearing it for one day and prefers to have the balance in cash so price is VERY IMPORTANT TO HER.

So....aside from David's Bridal and eBay, where do we look?

How nice of you to pay for her gown!
With budget in mind, I would think that you can look thru JCPenneys, maybe even local bridal shops?????
Wishing her a World of Happiness!

We had really good luck at Alfred Angelo, also i second what a1tinkfans said about local bridal shops, sometimes they can customize a dress- (sometimes the big brand stores can't change the design of the dress bc of legal rights to the official Designers. I have had a small local dress store change a really ugly dress into something completely customized).

Your neice is very lucky to have an Aunt like you! LOL As far as where to look....there used to be a Bridal Shop in Virginia Beach, VA called Le Star Bridal. It is a family run bridal shop, and the seamstresses there are wonderful!!!! They can do anything to any gown...seriously. I worked there as a bridal consultant until my husband got transferred to Ct. I wish I still had the number memorized.....just a shot, but look them up. Ask for Mrs. Lee or Linda.....they will love to help and you will be very pleased! The drive shouldnt be too long for you.......Good Luck, let us know how you make out.

I'm busty and a size 16 and I found a gorgeous dress at Alfred Angelo for under $400, with tax it was $426 and change. Now just prepare her that Wedding dresses run small and if she's a 14 she'll probably wear an 18 or 20 in a wedding dress. I wore a 20 in most wedding dresses
