I would like some suggestions about where to eat. We have 2 DS's, 14 and 11,. We have been to WDW any times but would like to see if there is somewhere new to eat that we haven't tried. It would be what I would consider normal food. I want to stay away from dinner shows and rest. like Le Cellier that is really, really, expensive. We like to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast but I would like some new ideas.

Please share you favorites and why!!!
Thanks, we are going July 12-19!!!:cool1:

Crystal Palace was one of my faves! DD11 loved Coral Reef, but if you aren't on the DP it may run a bit expensive.

We're trying Sci Fi restaurant this time. Menu looks good, atmosphere sounds great and prices look reasonable (but we will be on DxDP).

My boys (11 & 16) loved Ohanas! I asked them why they loved it and their response was "the food is great & they keep bringing more!"

We like all you care to eat family style at least once every couple of days.

We really liked the Garden Grill in Epcot.
We ate there 2 years in a row. The food was fairly simple and appealed to all of us as well as being family style which is an asset to our bottomless pit teenager.

The dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern was also good, again family style. We also like the LTT for lunch which has a more diverse menu and is not served family style.

Are you looking for lunch, dinner or both? I find it extremely helpful to use the sample menus from this site as well as allearsnet.com to help determine if a restaurant has something we'd like. As you mentioned not everything is "normal" type dishes at WDW. TS Lunch tends to be cheaper than dinner however they don't serve the same items for both lunch and dinner.

Most like Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time at MGM. DH and I ate at 50's Prime time within the last 10 days and enjoyed the pot roast and the meatloaf.

Others have mentioned Ohana for dinner at the Poly and the Garden Grill at EPCOT. Both are all you can eat. The Garden Grill is a character meal for both lunch and dinner. We tried the Garden Grill for dinner just a few days ago and enjoyed the food.

DH and I are not too adventurous. We've eaten lunch at the following within the last 10 days and both of use found something we liked. Grand Floridian Cafe (GF), Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), Plaza Restaurant (MK), Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL), Rose and Crown (WS EPCOT), Chefs de France (WS EPCOT).

Boma (AKL) for breakfast is good. Drinks (including juice) are included in the buffet price. Besides having specialty dishes they have the usual bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, carved meats, pastries, cereal, omelets made to order, pancakes, waffles and fruit.

Your sons would probably love SciFi, sitting in the cars is so much fun, I've always found the food to be just fine. Good milkshakes. :thumbsup2

My family loves Boma for dinner. There are some more adventurous items (and a buffet is a great way to try new things) but there's plenty of options for those who prefer a walk on the tamer side.

We ate at Liberty Tree for the first time in October and really enjoyed our dinner there. The apple cobbler was awesome!

The Boardwalk complex is also has a great assortment of restaurants to try. We've had good meals at Spoodles & Flying Fish (although the later runs rather expensive).

Use the menus on allears and have fun trying some new places!

Consider Trails End buffet over at the Fort Wilderness campground. It's probably the least expensive buffet on site and if you time it right you can also hit the free campfire with Chip and Dale as well as watch a Disney movie under the stars. Your boys may really like the atmosphere at the campground too.

Menu includes things like fried chicken, ribs, pasta, pizza, carved meats, etc. for $17.99pp at dinner. Lunch is even less at $12.99 and still has pizza, chicken, BBQ, sandwiches. Breakfast is $11.99 and has a standard menu.
