Where to eat in DLR or near-by?

Dried out and tasteless?!?:scared:

I can't help but think that maybe you just hit them at a bad time? Did you NOT have a double double with cheese?? Please tell me you had ALL the fixin's on it! Taste and texture has always been spot on every single time I've been there. IMO, if you just want a good cheeseburger done right, then In-n-Out is the place.;)

One of the things that I love the most about them is that they are 100% natural. For some folks, their taste buds just aren't used to the un-processed and natural flavors of foods in their original states. A few years ago my family and I went totally organic and natural foods only. I can say from experience that I can really taste a difference now between those foods that have chemical "helpers" and those that dont. Perhaps this is where the "plain" factor came in for you??:confused3

Either way, I'm sad to hear you guys didn't like In-n-Out. They've been a favorite of mine for well over 20 years and I just love me a double double with cheese!

Huge InNOut fan here however when we moved to Arizona and tried the one there it was not the same, the same with the Vegas one they just don't live up to the originals in Southern California.

You got it!:thumbsup2 SoCal really is the best! We've eaten at the ones in Vegas a few times before and while it was good (hey, it's In-n-Out!) it wasn't nearly AS good as SoCal!

I've never really like In-n-Out Burgers...

But back to the original question, if you're staying in the GC Storyteller's Cafe is nice. White Water Snacks is also open for breakfast, not super good, but cheaper than Storytellers.

We try not to eat three real meals each day, just due to the price. We're members of DVC so we generally get breakfast food and make our own breakfast each morning in the kitchen. We try to make our "big" meal noonish or early afternoon since lunches tend to be cheaper than the same thing for dinner. And then "snack" the rest of the day. Blue Ribbon Bakery is a real favorite. Bengal BBQ. Dole Whip.

For one meal we tend to get the WoC Picnics, which are a little pricey (about $15) but it includes a fast pass for WoC in a pretty good location and you don't have to charge over to DCA first thing in the morning.

There's isn't much in walking distance, IMHO, but if you have a car or are willing to take the Anaheim Resort Trasportation, there's a Baker's Square a couple of blocks down from the DLR on Harbor. It seems to be just out of the Disneyland Reality Distortion Field, so the prices are real. We've always loved their meals and especially their pies.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Napa Rose is outstanding, but very, very pricey ($$$$$) and although they do cater to kids (Macaroni and Cheese made with Truffle Oil) I don't really see it as a restaurant to take kids to. The Chef's Counter is a lot of fun for adults. Kind of a Chef's Table, but you get to observe everything going on in the kitchen and chat with the chefs.

Seriously, we never have 3 "real" meals a day. We did that once at Disney World and just felt overwhelmed.

From the photos Disney has put it they look like no more than a couple quick bites. Do you get enough to eat to suffice for a lunch? Did you have to pre-order them online? Disney says they have some available for walkup but may sell out on busy days.

I can't decide which is better deal neither. The WoC Picnics are $15 and the Dinner Packages are $36 - $39 per person. One is much cheaper, the other one comes with the Preferred Viewing. What to do ... what to do.. :sad2:

yes it is near the honda center..maybe another 5 min, it's near a bob's big boy and lazy dog cafe and the drive thru starbucks

Yep what she said movie theater is there to you can't miss it. From harbor drive down to katelia take a left and its down the road 10 min drive on the left hand side of the road. :)

When I was last there in '08, Denny's right across the street from the Main Entrance was good for what it was. Obviously, where'd you find "X meal" at a normal Denny's for $3.99, it's going to be $5.99 here, but it was still cheaper than most meals on the DLR property.

Only about a 5 minute drive down Ball Road is a small restaurant called Mama Cozzas. It's Italian, obviously. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It is absolutely delicious!! The portions are HUGE. You can watch the video on their website.

If we're there and outside of the parks at dinnertime, this has becomea must-stop for us.

I ate at the Denny's across from DL last week and it was horrible. I hate to say it but the best off site rest's are Mimi's and Millies, and Mcd's. If you have a vehicle. then drive up S Harbor Blvd for about 5 mins, and you will find a IN-N-OUT burger, and a Ruby's. Both are our fav restaurants in the DL area. As a bonus, there is a Henry's farmers market, and a Disney Character Warehouse close by.

Also a big fan of Millie's, they have good, reasonably priced food. I also enjoy The Cheesecake Factory at the Gardenwalk as they have huge portions that your family could easily split.

I love Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and we all love italian food so we are definitely going to check this place out next time we are in Anaheim!

Huff, just throwing this out there to you and the OP, we are a family of 4 with 2 younger kids, but we stay at one of the extended stays such as Residence Inn or Homewood and I believe one of the motels at the pedestrian entrance does this (sorry can't remember which one but I think it was a recently redone one) and they have a free breakfast every morning and on weeknights a free light dinner at the hotels. That saves us the $50-60 we'd spend on a meal 2x a day in the park. Then we eat 1 meal in the parks, and snacks. Although I know these hardly compare with the Grand, but just an idea.

Rancho del Zocalo's in Frontierland has huge portions, you could easily split the enchiladas or chicken.
