My husband and I along with our 2 yr old will be in the World from 12/28-1/2. We are trying to figure out where to make ADR for New Years Eve. Any suggestions. I had my eyes on Coral Reef or Teppan Edo. We are not familiar with the parks so please help in anyway. ;)

With a 1 year old I would choose Coral Reef instead of Teppan Edo. Coral Reef has the fish to watch and divers in the aquarium and is more open. Teppan Edo is more adult and the rooms are small without much to look at unless the food is being prepared. When we were there it was all older kids and adults. Others have probably had other experiences of course.

Make sure to make adr at exactly 180 day mark to get what and when you want, and make them at the park you will be in for NYE day. We have been for NYE twice and in 2003-4 started at MGM then park hopped around 4pm to Epcot and had adr in Japan(at the Teppanyaki, then)for 7:30pm; next year we spend whole day at MGM and ate at BD. My DS loved both of these restaurants, but he was older. A 2 year old will be hard to handle with the open grill tables of the old teppanyaki, but I don't know about the new Tepan Edo set-up. It is very crazy and crowded at epcot and MGM, but they handle crowds better than MK. MK has closed to all guests(including resort guests by 10am each time we have been there, so those who want to end the day there, need to get there early and plan on staying with no park hopping-.

I've read that MK closed early but 10am WOW! Thanks for the advice. My 180 mark is July 1st! I will be on that phone at 5:59 am CST:goodvibes

I spent last new years eve at MK - and it was AWESOME! To cut down on the crowds MK was open very late on Dec. 30 (a day early) and did most the same things so that people could go to another park on NYE. I heard multiple times on NYE that MK was about to hit capacity, but I don't think they ever actually closed. If they did they were able to reopen after some people left. We got there wicked early just in case and were exhausted by the end. The park stayed open until 3am and there were DJs playing music - what a blast! Around 1am most the crowd had left so we just rode rides the rest of the time without ANY line whatsoever! It was great! The park didn't announce these super late hours until the day before. There was also free hot chocolate and cookies!

We ate at Tony's and got a special NYE menu and we also ate at the Plaza. We had horrible times and really no choice in restaurant because we waited to make the ADRs (big mistake). I'm sure whatever you do you will have fun. I recommend doing some sit downs to give yourself rest time as it will be a LOOOOOONG day! Oh we also did noodles for a late late snack (needed to wake ourselves up). :rotfl2:
