O'hana's for dinner would be awesome in my opinion. :lovestruc Coral Reef is one of our faves. What are his interests? Would Shula's be too expensive & fancy for a 13 yr old? I think it's a "sports" steakhouse.

50's Prime Time is really fun. I suspect they would embarass the mess out of him if they found out it was his b-day! He may even like Sci-Fi, although I've never been there. Give us some info on him, & I'm sure one of our fellow dissers could give some great advice! :thumbsup2

Wow lots of great advice already...He is a HUGE sportsfan and yes a steak lover so Shulas sounds up his alley, where is that??? I was thinking of going to DHS for his b'day, I heard since we have 7days as part of our pckg he can use his bday gift as a fast pass all day for the whole family. Any places in DHS if we stay the day???

I have never been to Shula's myself, so it was a lucky guess!! :rotfl2: I believe it's in the Dolphin Hotel & it doesn't accept the Dining Plan. If your DS is a roller coaster fan, DHS is a great place to use the birthday fast pass! That's where I'm spending my b-day...RnR, here I come!

Anyway, I still think 50's Prime Time Cafe is where I'd go at DHS. Either that or Sci-Fi. Mama Melrose is just okay, but Hollywood & Vine is HORRIBLE in my opinion! The Hollywood Brown Derby is another fancy, old Hollywood-style restaurant. It takes 2 TS & is pretty good from what I've read. (We've never been brave enough to use 2TS there b/c I've read they frown on young kids.) So, they probably wouldn't make a big spectacle of it being his b-day. Have fun! :thumbsup2

we went to Shula's in 2002, and were not impressed, unfortunately. We were seated two hours after our ADR, and the steaks were dry. Of course that was 8 years ago, and one experience, but it was not a good meal for our 10 year anniversary.

I dont think we are doing the DP so that doesnt apply. Since Shula's is not in the theme park maybe that could be another non-park dinner or lunch. DS just walked in while I was checking out the SCI-FI rest and he thought that was soooo coool, so looks like I may be set...DHS allday and SCI-F_ for din. Thanks for the advice!!!

:scared1: Whoa! I'm so sorry! :sad2: I've recently read wonderful reviews, though. Maybe they've completely changed staffs since then.?
