Where to eat first night for 4 adults

We are 4 moms on a weekend getaway. We will be landing Friday night around 6:30 and staying at OKW. Looking for a good relaxing dinner probably outside of the parks. Thanks!

If drinking is envolved I would suggest Kona or Ohana at the Poly hotel.

They have the best drinks, Pina Colava, Lapu Lapu (woo 1 or 2 will do it for you).
It is also a nice fun, relaxed atmosphere although the later in the evening the more noise at Ohana so I would try for nothing later than 6:30 if the noise gets to you.

GF Cafe is a good choice too. Boma is another one.

It was our first meal on our last trip with 4 adults. Great food, atmosphere, great meal all around!

Hands down....Boma.
it's perfect for that.

Since it's at a resort that's out of the way, it doesn't matter if it takes a little longer to get there, especially if your using the buses.
(thus saving you park time during your trip)

It's a buffet so everyone can find something they like.

After you can walk around the resort and enjoy the savannah's

Another idea - how about a Monorail Crawl? We did that last trip & it was a ball. We had drinks & a bite to eat at Tambu Lounge, then headed to GF (skipped Mizners cuz it looked to sedate for us) then headed to The Wave at the Contemporary & had another drink & bite at their bar. You could always watch Wishes from whichever one of the resorts you are at when it's time if you want. It's something we could have never done when our son was young.

Great bar and a great way to welcome your vacation!
Fun atmoshere, good drinks, good food!

Boma is also nice, but O'hana just seems like a more fun place to be if you are going to be drinking.
Plus you can plan to watch Wishes from the beach which is always fun and most of the time you can catch a peformance of their band playing with luau dancers upstairs in the lounge area!

Ohana is not quite or relaxing with many children running around. From OKW take the boat ride to DTD. Try Fultons for seafood or Raglan if you want noise and entertainment.

Go somewhere in the Boardwalk area and then hit JellyRoll's. We went there last Sept on our first "parent's only" trip and had a blast!

I was leaning towards DTD just because it would be easy, but the idea of the monorail crawl does sound like fun. I love Ohana and Kona, just trying to decide if it would be worth it by the time we are able to get over there? We land at 6:30 so that would put us at OkW around 8? Check in, get settled, take a bus to MK, then monorail to Poly, puts us there around?

This is exactly my opinion as well. It is my favorite restaurant but it is a perfect resort to linger around in. Not only do they have the savanna like the PP mentioned but their lobby is very detailed and has a lot to see, they have a short presentation in one of the rooms off of the lobby a few times a night about African culture that is worth seeing, and their gift shop has some of the most unique souvenirs on property.

If any of you are wine drinkers there are some very good choices of African wines (mostly South African but occasionally honey wine from eastern Africa) and their press pot is the best coffee on property IMO, and that includes Kona.

I wouldn't want to be running to different resorts at 8pm after travelling either. I'd just stick with Olivia's or take the boat to DTD. Fulton's would be nice. We liked the menu at Paridisio but chose Fulton because of the bigger DVC discount. Plan on trying Paridisio next time though.

I definitely think the least amount of hassle would be sticking with Downtown Disney. My top pick there would be Raglan Road. The food, the drinks, and the bread pudding dessert are reasons I'd return.

I had only been there once, ADR for 7:30pm. The band and Irish dancer were not performing at all, so I would not say for certain that you'll always find them at night. More than likely you will. My experience must have been a fluke.

I think the group is leaning towards sticking with Downtown Disney. Now just to decide on where to eat there. May do a little bar hopping there too.
