It's nearly time to make an adr, where would you eat and why. I really don't know what to do, I thought about the Yachtsman but I really am confuddled :confused3

I think it depends who you are dining with.

We just spend Christmas week 2007 in WDW.
I let DD & DS pick our ADRs for Christmas Day.

They wanted to eat with characters so we went with 'Ohana for Christmas breakfast & Chef Mickey's for Christmas dinner. We had a fabulous time at both places!

Liberty Tree Tavern!!!! I know that the Magic Kingdom will be packed, but the food will delicious and traditional. If you want to do something different,The Yachtsman (your 1st choice), The California Grill or The Flying Fish are all wonderful!!!

I am doing Liberty Tree Tavern on Christmas Day for Dinner. I am doing Crystal Palace for Breakfast.

Christmas Day 2007 we ate breakfast at the Crystal Palace.
We had an ADR for the first seating.
For dinner we ate at Narcoossee's and loved it.
It was one of the best meals we have ever had.
We will definitely go back on our next trip.

Thanks, it will be just DH and me, I would like something special, I'm assuming there will be atmosphere wherever we go. It's our first Christmas at WDW, I know it will be crazy busy but I still would like it to be special.

We are hoping to book California Grill for Christmas Day.:thumbsup2

Just feeling a little anxious about getting my ADRs for Dec. People seem to be on hold forever and they aren't getting the ADRs or times they want.:worried:

Fingers crossed it will be ok.:wizard:

Was there anything special about CP at breakfast on Christmas Day? e.g. different foods? special touches? Or was it the same as always?

Thanks,

Bianca

We had Christmas dinner here last year (2007.) We were a party of 7 (6 adults, one child.) We love the food, service and atomsphere (we think The Wilderness Lodge is the most Christmasy of all the resorts!) Saw Mickey & Minnie the lobby before dinner! Decorations take your breath away! :cloud9:

This would be my choice, as well, for the reasons stated.

If you want the traditional Christmas dinner, LTT, the Trails End at FW or my favorite for Christmas Day dinner, the WC.

We have been to wdw for xmas week the last four years. we have made a point of not going to any park on xmas day...too crazy. 2005, we had breakfast (late 10:30am) at BOMA and then went to DTD for a movie and had xmas dinner at Artist Point in WL, it was beautiful and put you in the xmas spirit. 2006 we went to CP for xmas eve with dinner in Japan, then xmas day had breakfast at 1900PF(great food and atmosphere) and shopped at DTD and then very late dinner at CG (9:15pm) but got there early enought to see Wishes!-great food and wonderful view of MK. Last year we went back to 1900PF for breakfast, then went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and dinner at Boma. Great all 3 times and didn't miss the craziness of the parts for the holiday. We miss xmas this year, but wil be doing NYE and day(we will be at epcot or DHS for NYE).

I would avoid the parks for that day.Unless you like being packed like sardines and don't plan on leaving the parks at all.Parks can and do close to capacity. If they hit a phase 4 closing ( usually the Mk does by 1030am), no one gets in.Including people with adrs.My bil last year had LTT ressies ,left the park for a break and could not get back to them because the park closed a phase 4 closing. They ended up eating Chrsitmas dinner at the Pop food court. If you plan on staying in a park all day then go for it! But be at the park for opening and be prepared to stay.

We did a Christmas Day Brunch with Chef Mickey. Oh, was it good!

Other than it was decorated for Christmas, I don't recall anything being different.
But I wanted that "once in a lifetime" feeling of our family walking down mainstreet early on Christmas morning. It was near the end of our trip and we were exhausted but I wouldn't have traded it for anything.
My daughter LOVES pooh and even though she's a Soph in college, she still has her original pooh bear on her bed. It was my Christmas gift to her and our family. We took tons of pictures with the characters. It was TOTALLY COOL!
So come to think about it, yes there was most definitely a special touch to the morning. A combination of Christmas and Disney magic.
And breakfast at CP is a family tradition.
Sitting here thinking about it, I'm ready to go back.

As of today, we are now planning our first Christmas in WDW! If we get the Candlelight Processional package for Christmas Day night, what happens if Epcot reaches capacity before we arrive for our dining reservation (hoping to get Le Cellier) and/or the CP? Do they still let you in if you have a package like that?

We have now changed our mind and decided on Artist Point for Christmas Day. As we are coming from the UK we are visiting for 3 weeks so we will do California Grill earlier on in the holiday.:thumbsup2

Just hope Artist Point has a family feel. I don't want to feel out of place dining with my children.:worried:

No, you could tell them that you left your 5yo son inside Epcot, you could tell them that you left your purse in a locker and just need to run and get it, you could tell them ANYTHING you want and they will not let you in at a phase 4. When phase 4 hits, they are talking fire code violation here....there are absolutely positively no exceptions.

If you do booke Epcot for Christmas day, enter Epcot at rope drop, and STAY...do NOT leave.

We've only been there twice on Christmas Day but we entered Epcot just for dinner with the CP and the crowds were not that high. Once was Dec. of 1999 leading up to the 1/1/2000.

There is no way I would spend all day in a park on Christmas Day.

Epcot handles crowds way better than the other parks.Phase 4 closings are not that common there.MK on the other hand almost always hits phase 4 on Christmas, usually by 10-1030 am,and reopening later in the day
