This is the first time we are going to Universal and I need some recomendations on where to eat. I heard Emril's is great do I need reservations? What number do I call? Where else can we eat? It will be me, my husband and our 6 year old son. Thanks!

When we went last year, we ate at Margaritaville....very good food at affordable prices...

We would like to someday go to Emerils, but for now our DS's (3&7) are too young to appreciate the food there...

Tchoup Tchoup is better than regular Emerils. Also, I would go to Mythos, Margaritaville, NBA City and Mama Della's at Portofino.

Can I take a 6 year old to Emril's--he probably won't eat but can he still go with us?

They do have a kids menu at Emeril's and it turns into a chef's hat. the food and service is outstanding. Tchoup tchoup is also wonderful. But do call and make a reservation. you might want to try Tchoup for lunch.

My two children are aged 8 and 10 now ( but were 9 and 7 on last visit)and they loved the Hard Rock Cafe. The food was good and the service very good...we were very well looked after every visit. The antics of the staff (standing on the bar and singing etc) and tvs playing all the pop stuff was a big turn on for them. We were staying at the HRH so had priority seating which was really nice. We also enjoyed Margaritaville and are looking forward to eating at Mythos which has had some wonderful reviews over the last few months as well as Tchoup chop - my kids love all things Japanese/Chinese food - so this one's a must too!

Margaritaville is a nice place to eat at City Walk, Mythos at IOA and Finnigan's Bar & Grill at US.

Mythos in IOA is my favorite. We also liked the Latin Quarter in City Walk. Enjoyed Lombard's Landing in US. Hard Rock Cafe is always fun, but LOUD. We weren't as thrilled with Margaritaville as most other people are.

Emerils and Tchoup Tchoup are two different restaurants. (Emeril Lagasse owns both ) and from what I've heard they both have similar menu's, however Tchoup Tchoup is much better imo!!!

With that said, I would recommend Mythos.......... it is AWESOME!!!

and to answer your other question, yes your 6 yr. old can go with you............ anywhere, as everywhere is very kid friendly, but, I think you'd enjoy Mythos more than the other two.......... we did!!

just my opinion!!!

Have a wonderful trip!!

Another vote for Tchoup Chop. We ate at both and loved Tchoup, did not care for Emerils. We are debating taking the kids to Tchoup chop in August.

I love to eat (see picture below ;) ). Here is my priority list:
1. Mama Della's at PBH
2. Mythos
3. Tchoup Chop
4. Lombard's Landing
5. Margaritaville

The Islands at RPH is also very good and Jake's is good for American style food.

We really enjoyed Hard Rock Cafe. The food was great, and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. And it's not a place we can go to anytime, because they just don't have them near us. Whatever you do, don't eat at Mel's Drive-In in Universal. The food is not good at all. I could totally agree with a comment I saw on another site today "it's a very authentic diner...the food tastes like it's been sitting under the warming lamps all these years". That's pretty accurate too.

I like the Italian restuarant at Universal (I go there every week and I still can't remember the name of the place!!! LOL). Just yesterday I ate at Nascar Cafe and wow....it was sooooooo good!!! I forgot how much I LOVE the food there.

If you don't want the normal hot dogs/hamburger deal then go to the Italian restaurant for a quick meal. If you want a sit down meal I like Margaritaville and Nascar Cafe. I didn't enjoy the Hard Rock Cafe the one time I went because our waitor was a JERK and since then we never went back. Also the food wasn't that great (to me).

Isn't the Italian restaurant called Louie's?? That's what I call it at least....LOL

I also love Hard Rock Cafe. Yummmm!!! Used to eat there all the time...but now I don't have time for anything sit-down because of GB Shows, Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revues, and rides on MIB and Jaws!! :teeth:

HRC, Mythos, Margaritaville, NBA City, Louie's...

All good places. :)

But Schwab's pharmacy is the best place in USF for ice cream & milkshakes. :)

I have to agree with that one!!!! Speaking of ice cream I haven't had any at Universal in a LONG time. Maybe when I go either tomorrow or Saturday I'll get some :smooth:

I have to agree with Damo............ Jakes at RPR is awesome, we loved eating there......... the food is excellent.......... may I suggest the ribs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will I need a reservation to have dinner at Hard rock? If so how can I do that in advance?
