Visiting in mid December with wife and two daughters ages 11 and 8. Looking for decent food and an atmosphere that would interest my kids. In 2006 we ate at Club Marakesh which was fine, but we would like to try some place new. I thought the San Angel Inn would be nice but the reviews are so hot and cold I am hesitant to eat there. Any suggestions would be welcome.:confused3

Our family loves the Biergarten. The theme is supposed to be an out door courtyard with a band playing in the center at certain times during the day.
Tables are community tables but if you are not into talking to others you can let your body language let others know. ;)

The food was good and everyone from DS to DF found something to like.

At 60 days out the choices may already be made. Check online for availabilty, but Le Cel is likely gone, and several others may be full too. Then check the menus on www.allears.net and see what you like.

DS is 13 years old. He absolutely loved Teppan Edo in Japan. That is on his must do list for our next trip. Coral Reef was nice. We had a really good meal here and we all loved the giant fish tank.

I second the Biergarten post! We love it there. Obviously, the theme is a German Biergarten and it truly is a great place to go. My daughters(now ages 20,15 and 6) have been going for years and its one of their favorite restaurants. The band is extremely entertaining and there is a dance floor in front of the stage. My youngest loves to go out there and dance! The food is basically German comfort type food and there isn't much on the buffet that is strange...its all very similar to our own comfort food.
As far as San Angel Inn, we've only been once and haven't been back because we just weren't thrilled with it. That doesn't mean your family won't like it.
You're very limited at this point on restaurants if your trip is coming up. Many will be full. We've never needed an ADR for Biergarten(and I highly recommend lunch here, since its not only cheaper, but the food is amost the same minus one or two main meat(maybe a fish and rouladen??) or Restaurant Marrakesh.
As far as any other WS restaurant, you may want to check and see what is available...

Epcot has so so so many choices!!!!! Its hard to say without knowing what kind of food you like etc. Le Cellier and Tutto Italia get great reviews. I ate at Beirgarten and I too LOVE it! We are skipping it this vacation because we went already and want to experience soething new, but I am already sad to be missing it!

for your two children...I would also second going to Biegarten...The food choices are not all German and the kids would probably also like the entertainment....
We also loved Tutto Italia ....the food and service were wonderful...

Biergarten would be my choice as well. It's fun and the food it great. Even if someone is picky they have something for everyone. DH had never had German food before and was really hesitant about it. Now he always asks when we're going back.

In Epcot are faves are Tutto Italia, Coral Reef and Teppan Edo.

Check out my dining review, we just came back and I have posted Teppan Edo already and will post Coral Reef soon and Tutto Italia tonday actually, its next on my list.

My DD (7) really enjoyed seeing the chefs at Teppan Edo do their thing...LOL And she enjoys Coral Reef because of the big aquarium filled with different and wonderful fish!

They might like Coral Reef - good food & a looking great aquarium .
Teppen Edo- Good food & fun
Tutto- great food
France- good food

During our June-July trip we had the opportunity to have dinner at Epcot only twice. First at the Coral Reef Restaurant then at Restaurant Arkeshus in Norway. Both were excellent choices, very different but very good. Dining at Coral Reef is like having dinner in an aquarium. The food was good and the kiddos were throughout entertained by the fish in the tanks. Dining at Restaurant Arkeshus was very enjoyable as well. We met 5 princesses there: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, and Belle. The food was very good, especially the salmon, the appetizer buffet, and the dessert plate. All was excellent. I've heard good reviews of the Biergarten, Le-Cellier Steak, and Teppan Edo. I guess it depends what your like and/or are in the mood to try. Good luck making ressies!

Tutto seems to be getting great reviews at the moment, i would try for that :thumbsup2

It really depends on what your family likes to eat.

For ambience, I love the Coral Reef. We also enjoyed the food when we were there for NYE.

Chefs de France is also a great restaurant. The food isn't so ethnically different if you know what I mean- especially if you go for lunch. Now that Remy comes around to the tables- search the dis threads to see when he comes around- the restaurant has become even more popular.

Teppan Edo has AMAZING food and it's so much fun to watch. I loved Teppan Edo and thought it was a bargain for one table service credit. I don't know if you're on the ddp, but I would consider this if you are.

Le Cellier gets a lot of rave reviews here. My family enjoyed it, but me, personally? I didn't see what the hype was. Sure, it's a good deal if you're on the ddp. But the food was typical of any steakhouse and the ambience didn't cut it for me. Also, with two daughters, the ambience in this restaurant is nothing to talk about. It's modeled to look like a wine cellar, so think close tables, kind of dark, lots of wood.

Really, I would highly suggest buying a WDW guide book (unofficial or official) at any of your local bookstores or B&N or Borders and perusing it. There are many great restaurants in Epcot that the dis sometimes overlooks.

With so many choices available at Epcot, I would think your decision would be based on what type of food you want. Whatever you decide, I am sure you will enjoy. :cool1::banana:
