There are so many choices. What are your favorite TS meals? We will be traveling with our 1 and 5 yr old. Characters are not important, and if it is a nice place we will be eating at the start of dinner time.

Right now i am thinking about
Coral Reef
Le Cellar
Chef De France
Garden Grill
tutto Italy
Nine Dragons, if they are open next June.

Where not to eat at Epcot?

These are all good choices. Garden Grill does have characters which the kids usually like. Le cellier has thebest food. Coral Reef is also a good experience for the family.

Well, since four out of the six restaurants you have chosen are ones we plan on doing next year, I have to say I think you did a great job!;) (Don't have Coral Reef or Nine Dragons on my list, I have to factor in princess meals!!)

Has anyone eaten at Garden Grill? Is the food good? I do not care for buffets, but family style is okay. My oldest is not a fan of characters, so that would not be why we would go.

My kids favorite in Epcot is Chefs de france. In became DS's favortie since he was 4.

Le Cellier is our favorite restraurant in Epcot.

Garden Grill happens to be one of our favorite character meals, but if your oldest doesn't like characters, I wouldn't bother with ANY character meals. You go to those for the character experience, not the fine dining, if you know what I mean. :)

I read on another thread that the garden grill is no longer doing character meals after I think September not sure if this is the case but if thats what you are going there for you may want to ask when you make your adr.

James' Top-7 Best Epcot Restaurants:
7. Garden Grill (even without characters)
6. Biergarten
5. Rose & Crown
4. San Angel Inn
3. Coral Reef
2. Le Cellier
1. Marrakesh

Glad to see someone finally mentioned Biergarten! We had a great time there!

:cool1: :hippie: We will be going in about 17 days and Le Cellier, Coral Reef and Chefs De France we have ADR's for. But we do also like San Angel and Rose and Crown. Went to Teppen Edo in June and really liked it there. There are so many good restaurants in EPCOT.

I used to love GG, however the last 2 times we've gone I've found that the quality seems to have gone way down. Now I know there are some who think this of all of WDW- I am not one of those people. In general I love most of the TS at WDW, just a few, such as GG, have declined. IMHO.

Le Cellier and Coral Reef are our "must-do" TS meals - never had a bad meal at either place.

we're not seafood people so we hardly ever go to Coral Reef. Their non-seafood items just aren't worth it to us, neither is the view. I love Chefs de France, as well as Le Celier. Tutto Italia was verryy good when we had lunch there in May but I know they changed the menu around a bit?

My favorite restaurant is Chefs de France! I've eaten at Le Cellier and it has been ok, but everyone else in my family loves it. Must be me. I also enjoy Rose & Crown and San Angel Inn. This past trip we ate at Coral Reef, but I spent most of dinner rocking my DS to sleep so I ate a cold steak - not CR's fault. My mom and dad did enjoy their meals and DD loved watching the fish; our waiter was a bit overwhelming for our liking.

:( I would NOT recommend Teppan Edo. My son LOVES any restaurant that has teppenyaki style dining. But even he was disapointed!

Would you mind being more specific? Are you referring to the food quality? Just added this one to our list:upsidedow

It is the character lunch they will not be having anymore at the GG, there will still be a dinner character meal there.:)

Wow! I'm surprised. We've had the very best meal of our last trip there. It's in our top 3 of any WDW restaurant we've ever eaten at.

We too one had a horrible meal at Disney. I think it was our only bad one ever. It was at Gaarder Grill, and I was so sad because I was looking forward to it. It was at the end of our trip, but the dday we got home I wondered why I didn't say something. If I had been anywhere else I would have so I called the reestaurant and spoke the the manager. He was appologetic and offered us to come back, I said how about in 2 years and he said sure. Two years laster we went back and had a great meal. Great service, good food, and they even comp'd grandma and grandpa's meals (they were not with us the first time). I half thought they would say, a comp'd meal from 2 years ago???? Are You Crazy??? But they didn't it was no problem. I know sometimes you get an off night, even in Disney--- but it is nice when they make up for it. I would not mind going there again, but we do so many character meals that when we are in epcot, we want to try otehr things. For this year we are going to LeCellier (I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!) and Akerhaus, mostly for the kids, but I am excited to try something new and hear good things... Thanks GatorLady :flower3:
We love CR, but wanted some new dining experiences this time. I don't eat anything from water---fish, etc, but the steak there is good and the kids love to watch the fish. I will miss it this year, but it is time to try new things. Otherwise, we like to eat "Around the World" at every CS, especially Mexico and France (desserts!!!!!)
I think no matter where you go, you likely won't be disapointed. EPCOT is like tastebud Heaven!!!!!

Now I need to go make dinner, I AM STARVING!!!!
