Where to eat and what to do

I am staying off site for my first time. We are staying in Kissimmee off of US-192 at Resort Parkway International....Does anyone have any suggestions for good places to eat, both fast food types and sit downs....Also what else is there to do/ besides Disney....I have 2 children boys 5 and 7...Please help.

Our favourite non-Disney restaurant is the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse (there are a couple around). They cook right in front of you and put on a great show. The food is GREAT, and you get A LOT!! You can usually find a coupon in the Orlando books you get at the hotels.

We also like Darryl's, but I'm not sure it is there anymore... it's got a fun atmosphere too.

As for stuff to do, there is always Universal, and depending on the time of year you are going, Wet N' Wild. There is a lot of outlet mall shopping, but I'm not sure your boys would love that. There is always something to do along Internation Drive. There is a Ripley's Believe it or Not, and other dinner shows such as King Henry's Feast.

We always visit the Orlando Science Center. We have a museum membership here that gets us in free (most memberships have a reciprocal agreement). We also like Fun Spot which is a carnival type park located near the end of International Drive. Most of the coupon books offer some type of discount to Fun Spot and we usually buy an all day armband.

Boys that age would probably enjoy a trip to the good ole Gatorland, which predates WDW -- it's a little north of 192 to the east.

The high light of every trip is swimming for my children. My kids also like chinese buffet on 535 N Y China Buffet.

We always enjoy Logans Roadhouse Grill on 192. Great place for steaks, kid friendly. Also, Joes Crab Shack. Kids will love this place.
