I am bring my Mom to Disney for her birthday. She has never been and I haven't ben in a couple of years. I have heard that Priority seating is a thing of the past and need to know the new system. I also need tips on where to take her (my favorites are the Luau, Ohana, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, Cincerella's Castle, Liberty Tree, Canada, 50's Prime Time, Artist Point and so on). I want to take her to the places that will be memorable. I also need any money saving tips. Thanks guys!!!

Hi,

Priority Seating is a thing of the past in name only. Priority Seating is now known as Advanced Dining Reservations, or ADRs. ADRs work the same as Priority Seating...just a new name! There is one difference: you can make ADRs 180 days in advance instead of 90 days in advance.

As for money saving tips, here's the best site:

Enjoy!

Priority Seating has been re-named "ADR," which I think is advanced dining reservation. As far as making ADRs, you can now call and book 180 days out for most restaurants. That is the only change as far as I can tell.

As to saving $, you might want to look into either the Disney Dining Experience or Disney Dining Plan. The DDE is a card that you purchase that is good for one year. It is available to FL residents and annual pass holders. For AP, it is $60. It gives you 20% off at certain restaurants--the list is on the disney world site. It includes most of the WDW table service restaurants and is good on all food and beverage items in those restaurants (includes alcohol.)

The DDP is available on certain vacations plans. It is free for part of August and September again, on certain plans. If you are a DVC member or renting points from a member, you can purchase it for $37.99 for an adult or $10.99 for a child--no free period. Same price to purchase with a package that allows it. Again, details at WDW site, but basically includes a table service meal, counter service meal, and snack for each night of your stay--you can use them any way you want (2 table service one day, none another day, etc.) Check with your travel agent if you want to get one of the packages.

AS to where to eat...sounds like you have some good ideas. The menus for most WDW restaurants are available at allearsnet.com. If that gets deleted from my post, do a google search for Disney Menus.
