Where to chill out after checkout?

On our last day we fly out at 10:30 p.m. and will be checking out of CSR that morning. Where can we cool down, get out of the sun and relax (read and kick back) for several hours in the afternoon?

We have a PPO ADR at CRT that day, our 2nd in the Magic Kingdom, and will probably tour until noon. After a break, thinking we'll head back to MK or buzz DS before boarding Magic Express at 7:30 from CSR.

Any suggestions for our final day welcome! TIA --

Other than the lobby? I'm not sure of anywhere else to hang out.
We hate early reservations on check out day so we never do them. We stay at the resort till about check out time, then head to the park till time to grab Uber back to the airport. We always pick Epcot so we can use their bag lockers out near the buses.
With your early ADR I'd probably just stay at MK till I'm done and then head back to CSR and stay till ME picks you up. Maybe swim? Eat a late meal at one of the restaurants?

When we went last summer we checked out of Coronado in the morning and spent the day doing shopping and eating at Disney Springs.

We checked our bags at bag check at the resort before we went to Disney Springs. Then we came back to the resort later for the magical express and to pick up our carry on luggage.

you might consider taking the resort monorail over to the contemporary. they have lots of comfy seating facing out over the lake. Floor 4 by contempo cafe is rarely full in afternoon or take the elevator down a floor. free wifi and a grwat view. then if you want to go back to MK just hop on the monorail. Poly also has a big seating area over by Ohana too.

Before we had kids we would always end our trip at what was then Downtown Disney and do some final shopping for stuff we didn't pick up at the parks, then see a movie. We still can remember each trip what movie we saw. Our honeymoon it was 2007 and we saw The Bourne Ultimatium.

With kids now we drive and have annual passes so we stay at a park all day the last day, always Magic Kingdom, and get one last Dole Whip!!!! then drive to my in laws about an hour away and rest up for the 20 hour drive back home to Michigan

As others have said, we also do Disney Springs on checkout day. We eat breakfast at our resort, pack up our things and then leave our luggage with bell services when it's time to check out. Then we head to DS for lunch and shopping until it's time to return to our hotel to catch ME.

We had an evening flight back in October and we went and ate/hung around Disney Springs after checkout time that morning. We had a leisurely meal and then just walked around and took in the sights/shops before heading back to the resort (POFQ) to catch the ME to the airport.

You probably have your reasons but a PPO ADR on check-out day would be a bit much for us (I know that's not your question, just making an observation). You'll have to be up/out of your room/bags with bell services early!

We've started to take later flights recently. On checkout day, we'll maybe do MK for a bit then back to grab our things and take to bell services. Then resort/pool time and just chill there. It requires being organized with your stuff, but a nice way to end the trip for us.

Have fun.

My friend has a great solution (although not budget friendly). Extend your room reservation by one night. We did last when we had a late flight out,of Vegas and it worked out great. We spent the day and early evening siteseeing, went back to the room to relax and shower then left for the airport

We always being our stay at MK and end our stay at MK. We have done this for the past 7 yrs. Irs our favorite way to begin and end a magical trip

The PPO ADR and the break are gonna be what gets you I think. I would head to the park around check out time and stay until it's time to head back to get on DME. If you absolutely need to keep your ADR then I would go to the park until afternoon lunch and head back to the resort for swimming. Just throw your suits in your carry on and be on your way

Definitely go to a park. We generally take a fairly late flight. We spend the day at MK and head back to the resort about 1.5-2 hrs before our bus so we can get there, claim our held carryons and maybe have a last drink at the bar before we meet the bus.

I'd stay at MK for the whole day - back to resort around dinner time - dinner and hang at the resort, board MDE bus at 7:30.

I know some people frown upon hanging out in a resort lobby where they aren't staying, but I'm not one of them. I would go to the Grand Floridian and grab a bite to eat at Gasparilla Island Grill, maybe do a little shopping there, then sit in the lobby for a while.

we always leave on the last flight (8 pm or so) and we spend the day in the park, almost always MK. Then we head back to our resort (Pop), get something to eat at the food court and hang around there for an hour or so until we get on the ME.

Wow, thank you all, great ideas! You make a long last day sound very doable -- you've given us lots of options. I think relaxing at the Contemporary might be perfect for us, thanks so much DisneyMaleficent50 for the suggestion.

I'm taking to heart the questions about our PPO ADR --it does leave us without a hotel room even earlier. I booked at 114 days, so when a PPO at CRT popped up I just had to grab it because.....well yeah. Maybe I can let that bit of good fortune go in favor of a more leisurely day.

We haven't been to WDW for 8 years and may not make it again. This trip is a very big deal to us and I am so grateful to you all for helping us make the most of it!

I personally like to go really hard the day/night before and sleep in. Usually early in the trip, I'll request a 1pm checkout instead of 11 (always got it but really busy it may not happen). 1pm is the latest check out time that is free. We'll sleep in, get our bags picked up and stored and wander to springs for a late lunch and just hang out.. eventually we'll end up back at the resort with plans of dinner there and then leave to head home. Transportation and rides getting stuck make us nervous and miserable so we like to be in the resort with way too much time and since we went hard the night before, we kind of ended the parks part of the trip with a bang already so we're in resting mode already.

I thought you could swim at your resort pool on checkout day. Anyone know?

Other than that, I'd always choose Magic Kingdom for last day :flower1:
