Where to celebrate 2nd birthday?

We are planning on having a second birthday celebration for my son in Disney World. Both sets of grandparents and some aunts and uncles will be in attendance (though not all staying on property, which I undesrtand is relevant for magical gatherings). Any suggestions on a special place to have a celebration meal or party for him while we are there? I was at Disney for the first time in many years this past spring while I was still pregnant and there is a lot that is new, so any suggestions from all of you experts will be appreciated!

How about a character meal at a resort -- you can order a special cake when you make the adr. Or everybody get together at a waterpark? If everyone will be going to the parks, you can still reserve a boat for watching fireworks and celebrate together then...but your little guy may be too tired to appreciate it by then!

we will be celebrating DD's 2nd birthday at Donald's safari breakfast in Animal Kingdom.
We have also done birthday's at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. Both of those are good too.
If you tell them ahead of time that it's DS's birthday they will decorate the table and give them a cupcake

If you do Chef Mickey's then no one has to have park entry since it's at the Contemporary Resort and not in a park - that might be a plus.

We celebrated our son's 2nd birthday at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. They did a great job.

We also celebrated DS's 2nd b-day at Crystal Palace. He was more into Pooh and friends than the other characters at that time. We all had a great time. I ordered a cake in advance and it was delivered to the restaurant and Tigger was there when we sang happy b-day.

We did my Bub's 2nd birthday at the Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine- he loved it, we loved it- got his card from the crew there and we ordered his cake. It was sooo much fun!

We just took my dd for her 2nd birthday last month and had a BLAST! My recommondation was Chef Mikeys also (that was our fav charachter meal) but I also wanted to add in a couple other things. Let them know at check in that you will be celebrating his 2nd birthday. He will get a birthday pin to wear and will get a bit of special attention from the CMs. The resort (we were at OWK) also sent to the room 3 happy birthday balloons and a personalized/autographed card and photo from Minnie and Mickey. Such a great keepsake.
