Where to buy Visa gift cards without a service fee?

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase Visa gift cards without a fee? I have seen them at Target before and assumed I could get one there and use my red card for the 5% discount. I was surprised when I went in today and saw that the $100 value card had a price of $106. :confused3 Then at the grocery store they had a different kind of Visa gift card but it had a service charge too.

I have already purchased a bunch of Disney cards for our trip and I wanted to start stocking up on Visa cards since we are staying off property. I like to have our entire trip paid in advance. :thumbsup2 Do they sell them at Sams? At the bank? I have no clue!

I am Canadian, and asked my banker husband, who said every single credit card gift card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.), all have a service fee attached.

Good luck finding a gift card that suits your needs, Tiger

TDBank does not charge a fee for their Visa gift cards if you have an account with them. If you don't bank with TDBank, check with your bank or credit union to see if they offer the same thing.

That is interesting, since TD bank here in Canada doesn't have separate Visa gift cards - our gift cards are just from Visa or Mastercard, and do not have bank affiliations on them when you purchase them. We get a million perks from hubby's bank, but his bank, which so happens to be the biggest bank in Canada, does not have their own cards, nor do we get any type of deduction on the service fee for them at all. Always seem to be more perks for Americans.

We do have different rules over here as compared to US, so it sounds like TD is absorbing the cost, which is a nice perk. Hopefully this will help the OP!

We have our personal acct with Chase and they do not add on a service charge. I bought some in May for graduation gifts as well as for our Disney trip.

Catira, thanks so much, that's perfect. We bank with Chase! :yay: I never go into the actual bank, I do everything online and via my phone. Now I know to go into the bank!

I get fee free cards at Chase, but I'm under the impression that it depends what type of account you have. Since we have a Chase mortgage, we qualify for a Platinum checking account.
