Where to buy phonecard?

I asked this question on the Resorts board but thought I may as well try here too.

I need to get a phonecard when I get to the USA. Going by towncar to the resort - CBR. We were not going to bother with a grocery stop and I really don't want to have to stop off just to buy a card. We're not even arriving until 8.30pm and will be exhausted.

I was told that it'll be hard to find phone cards at the resort. Any ideas or tips?

We have always bought ours from the resorts for about $10 UNTIL a very nice CM at IOA told us that she uses them for phoning home to India and gets hers from any grocery store - preferably Walmart etc. You get very few minutes for your time from the resort ones and really are a rip off. We took her advice and used the card everyday we were there and still have enough left on it for our next trip.

Thanks :D. We have decided to use our grocery stop after all and will pick one up at Publix or wherever our driver takes us.

That's terrible how resorts can fix it so you get minimal call time.

I didn't know you could buy them at UK airports for use over there. A handy tip!

I did a bit of research on this whilst I was there a couple of weeks ago. The best value I could find was from a 7/11 shop/garage, buy the "world card" for $20 you get over 5 hours of calls back to the UK. Great value!!!

Don't forget they tend to be time limited and any unused time will expire - usually after 90 days!

We have also found the best value to be the ones from the 7/11 store. Even the $5 card gives you around an hour of UK calls!

Does anyone know of a 7/11 near to WDW?

Sorry, the only one I can think of is on the junction of I Drive and Sand Lake Road.

The Swan/Dolphin sell 'normal' phone cards if you find yourself in that area - you buy them at the check-in desk rather than the gift shop though.

LJP - if the phonecard has a website to check the conditions I would - most phonecards expire a certain time after first activation...usually 3 or 6 months. Just wanted to warn you in case you relied on it working next trip and it didn't!
