If I don’t have a room Discount is there any benefit to a room package from Disney? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy room only and then get discounted tickets from undercover tourist or Costco?

There are a few 3rd parties who sell discounted Disney tickets. Places I would avoid are something like ebay since you have no idea if the offer is legit or some sort of scam. Seem to recall some older posts that mention AAA also sells discounted tickets if you are a member, not sure if they still do.

The reasons I stick to Disney is I can put 200 down and pay it off over time.... and they have the best customer service.

I don't recommend buying a package. It is usually the same price to do everything separate and with room only, you just pay your deposit and the balance when you check out.

I looked into the tickets from Sam's. But, they were actually from Tickets At Work. I have a vague memory that I heard something bad about them. So, I stopped until I could look into it more. But, there are other 3rd party sellers

I have also used undercovertourist.com multiple times. No issues. Nice part is it codes as "travel" so I can use my capitalone venture rewards to erase the purchase. :)

For room only it's a 50% deposit for package it is 200$.

Can one book a package than take the tickets off ? With the annual pass being a possibility.. I would hate to pay for tickets twice. Thinking of booking a room only and a package and cancel the package if passes come back. has anyone done this?

No, the rules are that you have to have at least 2(or it might be 3) days worth of ticket for packages. Let's say it is a free dining package, in the past, you had to buy at least a 2 day ticket to get the deal. What they can do is to take the value of those tickets and apply it to your AP renewal. But you have to make sure that they don't scan those tickets when you go into the park.

Ah ok so booking twice to get around this would be the best idea. Thanks!

If you don't have the tickets, then it's not really a package is it? You would definitely need to run the numbers. Usually it is cheaper to get the room only discount over any package if you already have an AP.

I canceled our Package and just booked room only. Come october if no AP I will just buy tickets

My only concern with doing that is the ability to book park passes in advance. I was going to reserve room only with hopes of AP returning, but don't want to miss park reservations

I get deals on disney gift cards and then use that to buy direct from disney.

1 4 day ticket from undercover tourist starting Nov 1 is 511.71. Direct from Disney is 530.28. Even the lowest normal discount on disney gc is 5% using the target red card discount. So if you did that and bought thru disney but paid with gc you got for 5% off you'd end up paying 503.50.
