where to buy AP?

other than at the disney store or online through disney, is there any other place to purchase APs ahead of time? we've always bought tickets before from dh's or mil's work (which gave us a discount)....are there no places to get APs for a discount (and i am assuming there is a slight discount to purchase the vouchers, rather than waiting to buy them down there)?

also, once we have the voucher for the AP, do we have to take it to one of the parks to get the APs, or can we get the APs at the TTC?

(sorry to have to post this...i tried doing a search and i kept getting a blank screen saying the search was "done". )


oh, one more question....we'll have APs for the parks, but we'll be staying with friends for a few days prior to checking into the Poly. on those days, do we just show our AP at the gates to park for free in the parks?

The only discounts on APs are for DVC owners. So just go to Disney.com and order. No deals anyplace. There is no advance purchase discount so if you don't want to deal with the vouchers just buy them when you get there.

If you are staying offsite you are correct, just flash your AP at the parking lot attendant and you can park for free. On your first day if you don't have an AP I believe you can take your receipt to Guest Relations who refunds you the money when you buy the AP.

As Carol said, The only discount available for an AP is for DVC members. Everyone else always pays the same full price. I just ordered mine on line about a week ago and was told I would have it by 4/18. I got the voucher yesterday.

I purchased our AP's online at Disney and had them do a will-call instead of having them sent. I ordered them about a week before we were going because we were going in the winter and driving and I was worried about a snow storm cancelling our trip. A week before, I knew that they weren't calling for anything major, but the tickets wouldn't get there in time.
When we got there, I just went up to the ticketing window, showed my e-mail voucher receipt and drivers license and we had our tickets in hand in just a few minutes.

Military personnel can buy them at Shades of Green at a slight discount and no sales tax.
