Where to buy a plain gold wedding band?

Would he consider a titanium ring? My dh specifically requested this for his ring, because of the whole Alien movie thing, I think it's Alien, where the guy's hand and his titanium ring kept the door from closing and saved their lives or some such thing. ......

I think that was in "The Abyss"?

DH lost weight, his wedding band got loose and he accidentally lost it :sad1: Now we're looking online and are shocked at how much more expensive they are now compared to 18 years ago :scared1: We paid around $100 then and it looks like we'll have to pay at least triple that to get something comparable--he had a wide gold band but will be fine with a narrower one. The only reasonably priced ones ($200) at costco.com and Service merchandise don't come in his size (11). Kay's are really expensive!

Any suggestions are welcome!

Sams Club online has lots of choices and size 11 was available for the rings I clicked on. I think most prices were $200+ range.

Yes, that was in "The Abyss", Bud and Lindsey had their wedding rings from titanium and he was still wearing his. :)

OP I was also going to suggest a different metal. My best friend's DH has titanium and he loves it.

Try JCPenney or even Walmart.

We got my DH a new one after he lost his. I think it was under $200 and we got it at Kohl's during one of their frequent jewelry sales. Plain gold band, medium width so nothing fancy but it was what he wanted.

I'm a big Blue Nile fan. They have a lot of choices including tungsten, gold and platinum and if you do a web search for blue Nile discounts you almost always can get 10% off. If you have only gold jewelry you don't want anymore you could also see about selling it or getting something made. I love the comment about the bowl of men's rings. Can you imagine that now with the cost of gold!

When I read this thread it made me wonder how much DH's band would be now. Nine years ago it was $90 for a 4.5mm white gold comfort fit. Now that same ring is over $200! I cannot believe it! The price of gold has definitely gone up.

I agree with the pp's who said find a local, established jeweler. You'd be surprised what good deals you can get at a small, locally owned shop.
