I was wondering if anyone could help me begin. I am interested in the DVC and I think I understand basically how it works. What I would like to know is where can I get specific information. What it will cost? How much per year? Is there a limit to the type of room you should get if you normally travel as a family of 5? I am new and don't really know where to look. I did look at the FAQS but it was more general. I could not find DVC information on the Disney World website. Thanks in advance

You should call DVC at 1-800-800-9100 and ask for the free video and information packet. You will have more information, but will still likely have many questions.

Reading the questions, answers and comments on this board will also provide a lot of insight to the program.

Basically, DVC ownership will provide 40 years of prepaid vacations in luxury resorts at WDW and around the world. Minimum purchase thru Disney is currently $11,250- but a discount program called Magical Beginnings (MB) is also available to lower that cost by up to $2000. DVC offers a variety of payment options.

In addition to the initial cost there is an annual maintenance fee which ranges from $3-4 per point owned. (The example above assumed a purchase of 150 points).

Membership is also possible by purchasing thru a resale- either directly from an existing member or with the assistance of a realty broker.

Discussion about any of these issues is available right on this forum and new questions are always welcome.

Enjoy!

You can also find info at www.disneyvacationclub.com

Come here with any questions and everyone will try to help. It's tricky to grasp the concept at first. Feel free to ask Disney to send you info. There is zero sales pressure involved.

hi: if you are a family of 5, a 2 br unit would be the most comfortable; it is rated for 8 people. a studio or 1 br unit is only rated for 4 people plus a child under 3 years old that can sleep in the pack-n-play crib provided. as Pam and Doc said, you can find many of your questions answered on this board.

Welcome to the DVC board. As you have more questions, just post them and there will be lots of friendly and knowledgeable DVC members who are glad to help with answers.

YOu probably need to get the video and go to the web site to know what specific questions you have. Remember that this is a timeshare, but a Disney type timeshare.
