Calling all WDW resort experts! :tigger:

Our family is thinking of going to WDW in mid-September. For the past three years, I have had everything planned out perfectly - what we would ride, where we would eat, what we would see, etc. One thing, however, that is in constant debate is where we should stay. :sad2: This is why I need you experts out there. I am going to post a list of basic information below - plus some various requests. Any responses are appreciated. Thank you all! :worship:

Basics:
We are 2 guests.
We are open to all tiers of resorts. (Value, Moderate, Deluxe, etc.)
We'd prefer Epcot area, but it is absolutely not required.

Requests:
It must have some sort of spa, but not health club. (Who wants to exercise on vacation? :rotfl2:)
It must have room service. It doesn't have to be 24-hr, but it has to go to at least midnight.
No children-traps. We all would prefer a hotel where children aren't screaming and running and causing general chaos. But, what are you going to do? It is WDW after all.
No Boardwalk, please. Good lord, we have fear of clowns and circuses in our family. That clown-mouth water slide? :scared1:

Once again, let me thank you for your time. Have a very Disney Day!

~Jess

If by spa you mean hot tub - that rules out the values and I believe Polynesian last I heard.

We have had three stays fairly recently at Coronado Springs (huge hot tub) and we found it to be extremely quiet and peaceful. The child factor was very low even during the hot days at the main pool. Beautiful to walk around, especially at night. Because it's a convention hotel (never had issue with them) it has the fitness center, nice lounge etc. Rooms are very nice. It has been the one resort we have stayed at that was the most "adult" like atmosphere.

It was a short bus ride to any park or area we wanted to go to, and the bus stops all around the resort so only a couple minute walk from room to bus stop.

Thank you, HopperFan!! :woohoo: We (well, you!) have now picked our resort! September, baby! :cool1: I hope you'll join along for the PTR/TR ride when the time comes!

~Jess

(PS That was what I picked, too!)

Just be aware that while CSR does have a spa (AND a hot tub) it does not have full room service. Only the deluxes, I believe, offer that amenity. The only 'room service' at the mods is pizza delivery.

Also, I don't believe that any of the Epcot resorts offer a spa. The GF spa is closed during the current construction project.

Actually, CSR is the only mod to offer limited room service other than pizza delivery. I believe it is because it caters to conventioners, they offer more services typically only seen at the deluxes.

Princesspower, Let me start out first by welcoming you here to the boards..I totally agree w/ what prior poster stated:

2nd. If it is true that you booked here: You Will Not Be Disappointed AT ALL!!
This resort is a mod, but is just a small notch down form a deluxe, IMHO.

Main Pool: Is probably the 2nd or 3rd best pool on Disney Property, plus the quieter pools ar nice too.
Bus System The best by far...Being that it is one of the convention resorts ( which you never really get that feel that it is ) Not many buses fill up as much, so waiting for the next bus , or standing when they're full, is never an issue.
Grounds This place is beautifully themed, & landscaped..So serine.& peaceful. Nice walk around the whole resort.
Food choices For a quick bite, This place has the Pepper Market, which is so easy to get food & sit...Never do you do the hustle ,& bustle of the values, or the other mods, to get your food & TRY and find a seat. Also it has a nice Table service restaurant, & also has a nice lounge For adults of course !
Updated Rooms Also this place like 2 of the other mods, have upgraded/ updated rooms. Queen size beds, newer decor, nicely themed..

You'll abosutely love it here, Although there are families here, you'll never feel like it is overpowering. It'll be relaxing for you I'm sure..Enjoy:thumbsup2

I agree that Coronado is wonderful - stayed there for our first on property stay as a family. The hammocks on the beaches are so relaxing!!

However if it were just DH and I going on a trip, we'd definitely stay at beach club (with deluxe dinning) :cloud9: we LOVE to eat lol but we also love to walk. The majority of our time would be spent at EPCOT and the international gateway and convenience to HS can't be beat IMO. We love the decor there and having just enough Disney right at your fingertips without being over run by a million unrulies.

Yacht club is just that step more formal than beach club.

You won't be disappointed with CSR but really look at what you want the days to be like - you want the spa, you want time at the resort - will convenience of location to a preferred park make the difference between relaxing and rushing?

I'll admit I've never stayed at yacht or beach so I don't know what the hallways are like, but I do know that their lobbies and grounds tend to be calm and quiet. THe only exception being BF time outside Cape Mays at Christmas time lol that was a bit crowded.

It was a true tug of war between family members: Beach Club! Coronado! BEACH CLUB!! CORONADO!! BEEEEAAACHH CLUUUUBB!! (In short, our family is not good with unanimous decisions.) While we will be spending a decent amount of time in the hotel, getting pampered and, dare I say, napping? :cloud9: (Ah napping. Why are naps wasted on kindergartners?) We also will be enjoying the parks. I am a Disney lover. I can't wait to hug, and take some pictures with the mouse, even though I'm no 3 year old. :goodvibes: I can't wait to ride Mission:SPACE. :woohoo: And now I know where I will be staying, for good. It is the best moderate, with room service, a spa, and a pool I have seen in my dreams. I can't wait. :cool1:

Sounds like the perfect fit for the Grand Floridian. Treat yourself.

So does this mean CSR it IS??? Hopefullly , cause this is The BEST!!!

I am going to agree with the others on CSR. We stayed there for one night last year when we went to Disney and I LOVED it! It is peaceful, beautiful and the pepper market food is great!

I love the rooms at CSR, that is probably my largest concern when I book a hotel, I am a total germ freak and if anything is dirty or even close to looking dirty I am OUT!

CSR was very clean, new linens (love the bed spreads!) clean carpet, clean showers (thank goodness) it was just clean!

Only thing about it is, it's a large resort, you may have to walk a bit to get to your room. We did, probably about 8 minutes, but I could have cared less.

The Beach Club is a resort I'd love to try, although you may not like it being busy. There is Cape May there and they do a Character buffet, so there will be alot of kids.

Have a great trip! I was trying to convince my DH to stay at CSR again this year our whole trip length but he got snooty :snooty: and insisted on the WL.

haha snooty...So you lose out I guess, being upgraded to a Deluxe instead of a moderate..LoL:lmao:
