we are goint to WDW July 20-26th and currently have a reservation at the swan for $155 + tax a night. There are 5 of us in my family and we are travelling with my brother who has four. A nice pool is important as well as being close to the parks....I just thought I would start looking around for something with a little more room or something that might be a little less expensive. Any ideas.....thank you

you have at least 2 rooms at the swan right - so you are looking at replacing $310 not $155 - no room at the swan can hold 9 people.

you might consider a house or condo - privately owned

cypress pointe is very popular

that is a good price for swan during summer.
the Cont Standard view is $249 per room (sleeps 5)
the Yc & BC is $305 per room (sleeps 5).
BW is $305 per room (sleeps 5).

however that say - you can stay offsite for a great deal less...

can you change your dates and take this deal

Well ... I think with your requirements of (1) nice pool and (2) close to parks, you have the best and cheapest option available. A room at POFQ would be about the same price.

If you're really looking to save money a pool home is an option. I found some 5 bedrooms in the $1200 - $1500 per week range. 4 bedrooms would be a bit cheaper.

Two families with kids, and wanting a nice pool? Definately a pool home. The one we rent is booked solid for July but you should take a look at it for comparison purposes. http://www.sjsvillas.com (we pay about $800 a week in January)

So much more space, private pool, kitchen for snacks or meals, and there are hundreds of homes within 3 to 5 miles of the parks. I bet you can find a great house for about half of what you are planning to spend.

We'll never go back to slumming it in a hotel room, no matter how nice or fancy it is. With a pool home we could each have our own vacation, any way we liked it.

Good luck in your search and have a great time!

The Swan has one of the best pools on Disney property and the hotel is located in one of the best neighborhoods. You are right outside of Epcot and MGM. Being next to Boardwalk gives you plenty of entertainment options.
I would stay at Swan, because whether you realize it or not, you already have what you are looking for. :thumbsup2
