Our flights were changed and we are now arriving a day early around 11 pm. We will be heading to the Grand Floridian the next day. Anyone have any recommendations for a nice hotel just to sleep? All star sports is coming in at 175 usd but if there is anything nicer and cheaper close by I would love to hear your thoughts!

Are you getting a car or depending on other transportation?

Are you planning an early day at the park next morning?

We won’t have a car. We were planning to take a taxi. We are looking forward to going to the parks the next morning but plan to take it easy that day. We won’t be rushing to rope drop etc.

Would be nice to find a nice place to sleep that’s inexpensive. All star sports is 175usd but if there is something that’s actually nicer and cheap near Disney we would consider it - or even near the airport. The Hyatt at the airport is 400 usd

I would go with All Stars. Since you won't have a vehicle, switching to a Disney resort would involve transportation to GF likely at the time you'd like to hit your first park. I'd recommend All Stars as you can head to the park and meet your luggage later at GF!
THIS^

I know it is high for what you get BUT if you start adding the extra layer of transportation and having to go by the hotel in the morning to move your own luggage, that amount is worth it. This way you don't have to move your luggage or deal with any of that in the morning. Let Disney do it!

for ease I would do all star sports.

swan/dolphin also have some good summer sales depending on when you are going... I believe they do luggage transfer. If so, you could be there for one night and use extra magic hours in the morning and walk to Epcot, spend the day there and take the monorail to GF around check in time.

I agree with other about All Star Sports for the ease of changinglocation.

Are you flying into MCO? Best and most convenient for your situation would be the Hyatt Regency inside MCO.

You can stay at the hotel in the air port if flying into MCO

Yes, and given the late hour, I would highly recommend it actually if you can swing it with Hyatt Points, Cash, or Chase UR Points that transfer to Hyatt...

11 PM in MCO is not 11 PM in say the Savannah, GA airport.... Especially if you have bags, you might not finish making your way to another off site hotel until 12:15 AM or 12:30 AM... hardly a great way to begin the vacation!

Remember you have to exit the plane, ride a train, and then traipse through the airport. Getting a rental car or taking the shuttle bus or getting your uber will take a little while... Hyatt regency MCO makes the most sense if cost is not a major concern. The convenience of it cannot be overstated.

I have personally done this twice now because it is easier and less stressful especially if using mears transportation

This is my vote too. We have stayed here many times pre-cruise. It was appreciated even more when our 9pm flight was delayed due to Tstorms down the whole east coast. Instead of arriving at 11:30pm, we didn't even take off from Philly until 12:30am. We arrived around 2:30am. I was so happy to just stagger to our room and crash.

It isn't cheap but it's wonderful for early departures or late arrivals.

View from our balcony.

How much would it be to add an extra night at GF? Changing hotels is kind of a pain after only 1 night, and you won’t be able to get into your room until the next evening. There is something to be said for just being able to settle in and crash, especially if you wanted to have a lazy morning anyway.

For everyone recommending the airport Hyatt, the OP said the rate for that night was $400, so out of the question.

I think the All Stars is the OP's best option. They'd already be at WDW so they wouldn't have to get there and they could have their bags transferred so they wouldn't have to deal with that.

The next-best option would probably be a DS hotel, but it might not be any less $ than the All Stars.

I agree! "Landing time" at MCO doesn't mean much to me since it feels like the plane is crawling through the entire downtown Orlando before coming to the gate.

All Stars it is then.
