Our trip is 7 days (short), with the dining plan only for the first 5 days. We have reservations made for:

2:20 pm Tutto Italia (should we make this Via Napoli?)
2:20 pm Sanaa
4:30 pm 1900 Park Fare
1:30 pm Yak & Yeti

For the last day we'll be in MK and this is what I'm considering:
Crystal Palace
Ohana's (only 9:40pm or 10:40 am available)
Kona Cafe
Cali Grill

(the bolded are what I am currently considering)

I'm stuck because while I would love the character experience, I would also love to visit the monorail resorts :confused3

Help? Which would you pick and why?

How about Chef Mickey's for dinner? It's a character meal and it's at a monorail resort, The Contemporary

I was going to say Chef Mickey's for breakfast or a late brunch (like an 11AM ADR). This way you are in the park durring the evening to watch any fireworks or parades and are free to have dinner whenever you are ready to.

I hear that the food there is nothing special. And are the fireworks viewable there?

Thanks for the suggestion!

ohana!!!

the food is average, you're mostly paying for the experience of seeing mickey.
No you can't see the fireworks from that location.

We plan on doing all breakfasts at our resort though

OK so I know this isn't what you want to hear:confused3 but like many things: it all depends.

When are you going? this will determine the time Wishes is showing and also the availability to get ADRs (or not). Will you have already had the chance to see Wishes in the park? This IMO is something not to be missed, and seeing it from a resort, while nice, is no substitute. How old are your children? Can they handle a late dinner, possibly in a signature restaurant? OK no flames please, but there's nothing that will ruin my dining experience faster than kids having a meltdown at the next table:eek:

All else being equal, if you want a character meal either CP in the MK or Chef Mickeys in CR could give you what you want.

If seeing Wishes from a resort is more important, then try for an ADR at Cali Grill. If you can get a table 1/2 to 1 hr before Wishes then you're good to go. Last time we were there, they held our main course so we could go outside to the viewing area for the fireworks. Fabulous.

If you just want to eat at a Monorail resort, I would suggest Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, or the Wave.

There are so many choices, you just have to go with your own feeling for what will appeal most for you and your family. Hope you have a great time!

'Ohana or Kona are good choices.

If you want to stay in the park then what about Liberty Tree Tavern for a late lunch? Their lunch gets great reviews on the DIS.

I'm actually going with my parents, grandfather, and siblings (15, 13, 9) and the exact date is Aug 26. The plan is we eat dinner together and whoever is tired can head back to the resort.

Since this is our first trip, maybe we should see Wishes in the park. That means no TSR past 9 pm. I was considering Cali Grill only for the view so I'll just cross that off my list, as well as Ohana since the times are inconvenient.

I think I've made my mind! Crystal Palace! We could visit all/any of the monorail resorts when we are dining at 1900 PF and we only have enough character meal reserved so far. Thank you so very much for the advice!!! :worship:

I considered the Plaza but the only plus is the food. I haven't found a lot of reviews on it anyways. Maybe for our next trip.

Didn't find the food at the Plaza all that great. Now Liberty Tree Tavern? That was some delicious food!

Ohana and Kona seem to have amazing food so I will definitely eat there sometime if not during this vacation.

I think I'll pass on Liberty Tree Tavern for now. CP seems like a better choice for us if we want to stay in the park

......Kona or CP? I'm reconsidering now. I think I just need some time to look at the menus and think about it....

I think I'd go with CP, since the Pooh characters are always fun.

I haven't eaten at Tutto Italia, but we are really excited to be eating at Via Napoli. They look like pretty different menus, so I would just go with whatever you think your family would prefer. I am spoiled with amazing Italian food all the time, so I thought I might be disappointed with Tutto Italia .. I know what to expect with Via Napoli.
