DH and I are going to Epcot for 1 day next month without our kids. The only Epcot table service restaurant that we have eaten at is Via Napoli. We were thinking of doing Coral Reef and Nine Dragons but have changed our minds after reading the "where do you regret eating" post. So where should we eat? We are planning on going to Disney next October with our kids but with 3 little ones (5, 3, and 1), we don't get to enjoy table service restaurants when they are with us. So now is our time to enjoy!

LeCellier is great is in Canada:cool1:

With no kids I would go to Bistro de Paris upstairs in France. It is definitely Fine Dining. Note they do not accept DDP but they do accept TiW. And usually there is no problem getting seating there.m

Le Cellier is good, but I think it's over rated. We actually like Coral Reef, but I have found a new favorite for Epcot. We went to Teppan Edo in Japan and had dinner there one night a couple of months ago and we all really enjoyed the "show" and the food was really good too. I am already looking forward to going back again. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=95

You could also take the Monorail over to the Poly and eat at Kona Cafe. It's my #1 favorite place to eat at Disney. :goodvibes http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=188

There is one more that we really like and that is Ohana. It has really grown on me over the years. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=25

I love Teppan Edo, but I find it incredibly kid-friendly and hyper. You'll also as a couple be at a table with many others. I think Bistro de Paris is a great choice if you want to spend the money. Le Cellier is eh for me, because it's just a good steakhouse and it's literally in the cellar and the scenic quality is lost for me. I like Chefs de France and Coral Reef, but my fave choice especially for 2 adults enjoying each other is San Angel Inn inside the Mexico Pavillion. It's Mexican NOT Tex-Mex. It gets mixed reviews, but it's one of my faves and I think people go in with the wrong expectation. It is dark inside and there are 2 person tables. Ask to sit near the volcano/ river ride. They have good mixed drinks and great food. And if you choose not to get dessert there, you can always walk next door to Norway and visit the Kringla Bakeri og Cafe OR take a much longer walk to France and get dessert at the Bistro de Paris. My last thought is Rose and Crown--for the tables outside by the lagoon, but not the food. The food is only ok, imo. Have fun!

We've enjoyed the Germany buffet. They have a band that plays, and while you often sit at a table with other families, it is nice to chat with them about their trips, etc.

Have never eaten at Coral Reef but Nine Dragons is one of my families mst do restaurants every trip. We even bought one day tickets to dine there the night before our Dream cruise in April. We find the food to be well seasoned and tasty (my must have dish is the Kung Pao chicken, which is ten times better than any restaurant we have in our hometown). Truthfully, the only WDW restaurant that we would never dine at again is Tonys Town Square in MK.

Yes awesome food and entertainment. :thumbsup2 Don't forget the liter of beer. :goodvibes

How is the food served at Biergarten? If we are a party of 6, will we be seated with other folks?

(I thought it was a buffet but I see pics that don't look like a buffet. However, I can't imagine they serve plates of all of those different foods on each table?).

TIA!

It is a buffet. With six you might share a table. I only remember we sat at a table for 8, there was 7 of us. DH, DS and I will definitely be sharing a table this trip. We can't wait to go back. We will be making 2 different lunch ressies for our upcoming trip. We loved it so much. :goodvibes

I've only eaten at Via Napoli and Rose & Crown. Rose & Crown was mediocre at best - fine service but the food was nothing to write home about. A friend of mine went with a group of 9 to Marrakesh and only two of them liked it, and one only liked it because of the atmosphere. Next time I'd like to try Tutto because I love Italian food and it gets good reviews.

Bistro de Paris!!

Top notch service, amazing food and a great cozy romantic setting to enjoy it all...you cannot go wrong with a wonderful evening at the Bistro, especially without the kids. It's our favorite restaurant in WDW.

My favs are Teppen Edo & Le Ceilliar (lunch is 1 credit , dinner is 2) You will have a Great meal at either:goodvibes

Ok...Teppan Edo wasn't available for dinner so I booked it for lunch at noon. I think Bistro de Paris is going to be too formal/fancy for us. Here is what is available for a dinner reservation that would leave us time for Illuminations. Which would you choose?

La Hacienda de San Angel
Le Cellier
Le Chefs de France
San Angel

France sounds yummy to me but nobody has mentioned it. Should we go with Le Cellier?

A lot of it IS about what appeals to your particular tastes. So if the menu at Chefs sounds good - and if it is NOT a place that you'd go with the kids -then that's your best pick. I have not been to Le Cellier since it became a Signature, but probably would skip it just because we have more steakhouses available at home. Chefs or San Angel would be my pick out of these 4.

Did you look at availablility at the Epcot-area resorts, though? Yachtsman if you want high-end steakhouse; Captain's Grill for a more affordable version. Kouzzina ONLY if the menu appeals to your specific tastes. Flying Fish is also good but pricey and tends to be slow. The Swan/Dolphin pair also has some higher-end restaurants that would be good for adults-only. Since they don't take the Dining Plans they tend to have more availability.

While I think Le Cellier is worth it for lunch, I still feel it is horribly overrated. Biergarten is fun, we had a decent meal at Les Chefs and we also had a nice meal at Rose & Crown. At some point, we also want to try Teppan Edo and Via Napoli.

We live in Texas and have vacationed in Mexico, so La Hacienda and San Angel are pretty far down on our list of places to try in Epcot. Tutto also gets pretty cruddy reviews and I'm very picky when it comes to quality of my Italian food (grew up outside of NYC)- so I don't see that happening either.

Marrakesh is the only meal which I'd TOTALLY advise against. We are about as far from picky eaters (i.e. I'll try anything at least once) as you can get and this has to be the worst meal we've had anywhere at WDW. Horrible food and super slow service. The pretty atmosphere could never make up for how bad it was.

Someone noted Bistro de Paris, and while we're good with fine dining (and pretty much any TS dining)- even with our young kids w/us (ages 2 & 4 our last two trips - 10+ts meals each trip for the girlies)- read the reviews before going the Bistro route. Between poor reviews and friends w/first hand bad experiences, Bistro de Paris is also very far down on our list of places to try.

Unless you are really into characters - I'd skip Akershus and Garden Grill. We also fully agree on skipping Coral Reef- definitely on our been there done that list.

While not in the park, you could always leave Epcot for a nice meal at one of the nearby hotels. Yachtsman, Shula's, Bluezoo and Il Mulino are all coming to mind.

I think we really want to stay in Epcot because we only have that one day there and we want to catch Illuminations. We are likely to get a late start in the morning as my flight gets in late Wednesday morning so I don't want to lose too much park time at dinner traveling to another place to eat.

I think it is a toss up between French and Steakhouse at this point. Hmmm....
