We are DVC members and own at AK. Tomorrow marks our 7 month window for making reservations somewhere else. I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can answer.
1. Is the bus transportation from BCV to Magic Kingdom easy? As in, do they make several stops or is it just BCV passengers?
2. If you had to choose between BCV or BW, with three little kids, which would be better and why?
3. Wilderness Lodge....???

I'm just confused on where to stay.....three little kids that love MK, but also like the other parks. Would like less time on a bus....3 strollers....ugh!!

The bus from BCV (or BWV) to the MK is the same - in fact its the same bus. So, pick BCV simply for the pool.

VWL??? What's your question? If its transportation, then its just a boat ride (or bus) to the MK and a bus to the other parks.

1. several stops. (i'm pretty sure BCV/BC/YC shares some buses with the swan and dolphin as well as BWV/BWI).

2. with little kids, i'd try for VWL or BLT (lake view) to get close to the MK. for an epcot-focused stay, i'd try for BWV or BCV.

3. yes. (i think VWL shares some buses as well, though.)

Hi, Not sure about the bus transportation to MK,we always rent a car. The BCV has the BEST pool with a very nice area near the YC with shallow water and sand area for young children.( The Main pool is a long walk from the BCV. But the villas have their own quiet pool .) If a pool is an important part of your vacation this is a wonderful place to stay. The BWV has the whole Boardwalk area to walk around, shop, eat and entertainment on the Boardwalk. The BWV and the BCV are within walking distance of each other. And both are an easy walk to EPCOT but BCV is a shorter walk. DHS is a boat ride away or there is a walking path from the BWV. The BW also has a greater variety of quick service food options. The BWV also has a nice pool area and playground area. Joan

I guess I'm pondering the WL as well. But I'm guessing that you have to fold up the strollers on the boat? I'm just trying to stay somewhere that makes having 3 kids more simpler (if there really is simple). We love Kidani, but with no counter services and having to take the bus everywhere you go...it's not a good fit for our family at this time. In a couple years, it will be great :)! Would you say that the BCV is more of a relaxing atmosphere? My hubby would like some "down" time at the resort with the kids as well.

I think there is at least one boat that you can just roll the strollers onto.:) And yes the BCV is definitely a RELAXING resort. Also a resort where you see LOTS of kids!! And don't forget Beaches and Cream!! ;) Actually BCV is my favorite resort :lovestruc. Joan

I've also thought about BLT, but with 3 kids (one is under 3, so we could get a 1 bedroom), and 3 adults, would we be cramped big time? We have enough points to get BLT magic kingdom view 1 bedroom.

The BLT has BIG rooms because there is really no entryway. We stayed in a 2 bedroom (5 adults) and it was very spacious. There is a sleeper chair and pull out sofa which should be fine for the 3rd adult and 2 children. Will the youngest be good in the pack and play?? This is probably your best choice not to have to deal with strollers on buses to the MK. There is also a GREAT cafe in the CR which is connected by walkway to the BLT. Joan

BLT has large 1 bedrooms- they sleep 5 anyway with the sleeper chair and have 2bathrooms. I would not atempt to fit 5 in a studio there (which is the smallest studios on property I believe. You may not be able to get an MK view but you could probably get a LV.

For seven months out? I don't think you are going to find it available. And I wouldn't want to do three adults and three children in a one bedroom at BLT, no matter that it would be allowed.

Did you make a reservation at your home resort at 11 months out?

Yes, my home resort is Kidani and reservations were made. I'd like to try something better fit for our family this time around. I think I'm either going to do WL or BCV. I think in order to "relax", we probably need a 2 bedroom. Now just to decide which one.....
The swimming isn't a big issue, b/c my kids would be happy with just a pool :)! I know we will be at the MK probably once a day (we usually spilt our days----morning, and evening). Never really explored the other two parks, but I think my kids would enjoy them as well. Same amount of points for either one too.
Do you think I'll have a hard time getting into either one of them? And what time do you start calling when making reservations? I know they open at 9.

The larger boats to MK from WL let you roll the strollers on. It seemed easy enough to stay there when we were with the 3 DGC. They loved VWL, so that would be my choice. It is a very relaxing resort.

With 3 kids, and a love of MK, I think I would try for VWL. At least there, you do have two options at the end of the night to get back to the resort--boat and bus.

And, as mentioned, one of the boats is big enough to keep strollers up. On a bus, you will be forced to fold up and with BCV, you only have that option. Plus, the boat trip from MK to VWL is only about 5 minutes--not bad at all!

Good luck!

If I wanted to spend the majority of my time at MK I would stay at BLT first and VWL second. You can walk if you wanted to go to MK or go by monorail. You can take the boat from VWL but I'm sure hauling 3 strollers on a boat could be overwhelming.

Think about what is going to make your life the easiest.

I had to chime in and vote for BLT also....it is super convenient to MK - an easy walk! Plus the pool and splashground are perfect for little kids. BC is my favorite, but when you use the pool there, it is a time to be vigilant and not so relaxing with little ones that you have to watch - especially as the pool area is so spread out.

BLT will be great for MK and monorail to Epcot, so you would only be wrangling strollers on buses for 2 parks. You would probably have a good chance w/waitlist if all days werent available now.

Happy planning!

So what resort were you able to get at the 7 month mark, fieldsmommy? Did you go with a 1 or 2 BR?
