Just pricing up for January as want to book it on Saturday.

It's only a few more pounds (less than 20) to stay at the Hotel New York rather than the Newport Bay Club. I've never stayed or been in either - just got back from SL. Just wondered if anybody had stayed at both who may be able to help me decide?

Even if you've not stayed at both perhaps you could point out good/bad things about either hotel that may away my choice. Decisions/decisions!!! :confused3

I'm off to stay at NPBC in a few days time, but I'd opt for the New York if the price difference is that minimal personally. Its just that bit nearer!

I havent stayed at either... but will be staying at NY in Oct... I would go for NY and take advantage of the cheap rate.

If the price difference is that tiny, then I would def go for the New York.

If you do end up staying at the Newport Bay, I would recommend paying extra for the Admirals Floor just to be in the main building. Both times I've stayed at the NB, I just had a normal room which both times seemed to be miles from reception so took ages just to get to breakfast and out of the hotel to get to the parks

:surfweb:

Ive not stayed at either but would also go for New York due to being so much closer

I'd go for the new york. It's quite a bit closer to the village, and will be much less crowded at breakfast and check in times!! :)

We've stayed at both hotels, given the choice out of the 2 I would opt for HNY, it's a much nicer hotel, I wasn't that keen on the NBC, far too big. The HNY is a lot closer and believe me it gets very cold walking round the lake in January.

I'd opt for the New York too. The distance will be a huge advantage in the winter. I think of the Newport Bay as a summer hotel! :rotfl:

i havent stayed in either but i have heard from people that the npbc can get quite hectic at check in and breakfast. i would opt for the hny if the price difference is that little

I haven't stayed in the Newport Bay but love the HNY, the rooms are a nice size. I like the decor inside too especially the photos on the walls. As the price difference isn't much I would opt for the HNY

The breakfast has extra stuff at HNY including some hot food (eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausages) which you don't get at the NPBC.

Even without that i'd say go for the New York.

Mmm, sounds good. I'm looking forward to coming in to a hot breakfast after freezing our limbs off during EMH!
