My DH has said no to Disney this year. :sad1:

I received 2 free tickets to anywhere in the continental US for my 20 year service award at work. They must be used before 12/31/2010.

I need to go somewhere fun, romantic but yet inexpensive. We've thought about Key West but it seems too expensive. Phoenix may be nice. Or San Antonio? Anybody have any ideas?

If you have not been I would go to San Francisco. Cities can be inexpensive if you use Priceline. You should be able to get a hotel for under $80. You could rent a car and tour Napa Valley or other points of interest.

DW and I really enjoyed Lake Tahoe. They have a few casinos in the area with some really good restaurants over looking the lake. Beautiful view when the sun is setting. You can also rent jet skis, relax on the shores of the lake or take a dinner cruise. It's a 3 hour cruise out on the lake. Dinner was very good and fairly inexpensive. You can click HERE to see some of the pictures we took while on the cruise. DW and I want to go back one of these days. :thumbsup2

The only down side is you have to fly into Reno, then rent a car to drive to Lake Tahoe. Well worth it for us though. We found a good rate on a rental car. Harvey's and Harrah's offer some great deals on their rooms. Check their site frequently.

Good luck on you decision and congratulations for 20 years of service. Glad to see your company is rewarding your hard work and dedication.

I was also thinking San Francisco or Boston. Both are great cities.

how about the Seattle area. You could rent a car and go up to Vancouver.....

If I were in your situation, I would check out the betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com and see what deals are popping up in regards to hotels.

Maybe try for a cheap 3 or 5 day cruise on Carnival?

i just came back from my first CA trip...we were in Long Beach and we loved it. It was close enough to drive to LA for the touristy things (which I LOVE), south down the Pacific Coast Hiway a couple hours, good food in the downtown area and we spent 3 days on the Queen Mary. It was such a lovely trip that we're considering doing it again for my sis's 50th bday next spring...will also be our honeymoon. :)

The cruise idea isn't bad. Look around at the cruise deals and see what you find. Usually the dealbreaker for me on a great priced cruise is the airfare to get to wherever it is leaving from...

Oh and Vegas is really cheap if you aren't a gambler...

You didn't visit DLR?!!?

I would probably do Vegas or somewhere West coast.
I like the idea that PP have suggested about a cruise. If you could book a last minute cruise that could be super cheap!

I hear Savannah GA is romantic and really nice.

HEY! Glad you liked my area! Born and raised...graduated from Long Beach State, whoooooo!

Don't you just love the QM?

I am facing the same issues.

We got free RT tix from Airtran b/c of some horrid experiences we had with them last month when we flew to WDW.

99% sure we are going to San Diego with them, but my mind still wanders to where else I could go with them!

Personally, I would fly to San Francisco and spend a few days and then head to Yosemite National Park. I have always wanted to see the redwoods and there are many romantic resorts/hotels in the area including Yosemite.

How was the Queen Mary? We toured it and I would love to stay there someday!

San Antonio could be fun but watch the summer heat.

San Diego? New Orleans? Vegas?

We had free tickets due to mileage and we spent a long weekend in Philadelphia. I loved it!
