Where Is Tikiman's Site??

What happened to Tikiman's site? I just went there and it started to download his homepage and then I got a big black screen that says Tikiman has retired.
Is everything okay with Steve?
Please Steve...can you just let us know if your okay and what has happened.

I just read quite a long thread this morning about not being able to get into his site. Sadly it seems that Steve may have retired...if you do a search you can see the entire thread.

That would be really unfortunate, if Steve/Tikiman did infact retire his site!! His site was a wealth of information. The Polynesian is my favorite resort, and I'd sometimes visit his site daily to check for up-dates and other news and to view all his wonderful pictures. It was almost like a mini visit. I sure hope when I leave the disboards and go to my favorites that I will find his Poly site is still up and going. There's going to be one sad person in Maine if it isn't!

Tikiman's site made me fall in love with the Poly. We haven't stayed there yet, but I can't wait to after visiting his site. It's the best information out there. I was so excited to see the pictures of the new room last week and frequently check on his updates about the refurbs. I'm so bummed. I hope he decides not to retire. He's put a lot of hard work into his site, and countless numbers of people have found a wealth of information and a true love for the Poly from visiting his site.

as it was getting nasty and yes very much like high school
my last posts and some others were also deleted from one of the threads i didnt think i had done anything wrong but...

i thought he had and has a great site and hope someday he will change his mind
it was a great resource just like the DIS
its funny how it becomes part of your everyday

Steve's site was definitely A+ for getting the scoop on the Polynesian.

However I find it very hard to believe that Steve would pull it due to a few people bashing his opinion. I mean anyone that is a seasoned Internet forum participant, and Steve was one, has been bashed, burned, insulted, you name it. If you stay in this game long enough it will happen to you.

He is a grown man with a family, I can't see him packing up the entire site because of a few opposing comments. That does not sound like him.

There is more to this I think.

Whatever the actual story is I wish him the best.

My thoughts exactly. I also agree that despite the remarks, good or bad, doesn't warrant Steve putting an end to his site and that is why I'm concerned. I hope everything is okay with him and his family.

I too enjoyed steves site but honestly he seems a bit thin skinned to pull his wonderful site because someone called him the "Poly Police". It is a bit petty. Too make things worse he has gone on three Disney message boards and said his goodbyes. Seems a bit dramatic.

Steve love your site buddy.....but save the drama for your momma!!!!!!

I speculate the departure may have more to do with the cost of maintaining the site. I imagine the traffic he gets the bandwidth costs could get expensive.

I agree Miss Inga, I left this site for a number of weeks because of some of the threads and posts. This site is intended to help plan trips, and for WDW enthusiasts to discuss Disney in general, and while all are entitled to their opinion, I've read many that were downright mean. One in particular sent me packing, as the poster made some very denigrating remarks about a resort she had never even stayed at, opinions and conclusions about anything should be based upon first hand experience in my opinion.

I am so sorry to hearabout Steve's site retiring. It helped me pick the Polynesian for our first trip, and have going back ever since.
I didn't see the threads that might have upset him. You're right sometimes the board the feels like my DD 8th grade school!

I like to thank Steve for all his help, I will miss you.

I still get on Steve's site. There is a whole thread about his retiring. He is going to give details to Richkloster, the other head guy over there. I don't think he retired because we can still post and see everything.

I think there's some confusion about Tikiman's Poly site (which is still showing the retirement screen for me) and the Disney Echo forum site (where Tikiman is a co-moderator). Skiwee1 is referring to the Disney Echo site's postings.

It's not right, what was said to steve, But he needs too get more "thick skined" and not be so sensitive. It cost thousand of people a great time in a great site.

Let me just say I don’t need a thick skin. I am not sitting here crying about it all. I am just not going to take the time and effort if I have to deal with the messages left here and the emails I get that are to harsh to even post here. I did not do this to throw a fit and be upset about it. I just said enough was enough and decided I needed to move on. Also I have been dealing with these nasty emails for a while now so I don’t just react to things that easily even if it seems like I did.
