Where is the rope for rope drop located at MK?

Is there only one rope or is there more than one location? Is the Main Street area open before the rest of the park opens?

Does it get really crowded before the rope drops? Is it "civilized" or do people push and shove once they drop the rope?

What about rope drop location at other parks? We are going in July. Thanks for the help!

Rope drop for MK is at the north end of Main St (which is open before) at the ice cream parlor, although you can't walk far enough to the other side to get to the barber shop.

I have seen crowds develop in front of the turnstiles before the turnstiles open. I have seen the entire area fill up between the turnstiles and the train station before a greeting by characters and/or a chosen family is made from the train and then a preliminary rope drop occurs at the archways.

Rope drop for Epcot is a little way inside the turnstiles, just before Spaceship Earth. Sometimes Mickey and other characters arrive on a double decker bus a few minutes before rope drop.

Rope Drop for MGM Studios is at the end of the first group of stores, before Sunset Blvd (that heads towards Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster).

Rope drop for Animal Kingdom is a little ways up the main path but before the turn off to Minnie-Mickeys and Festival of the Lion King. Sometimes Mickey and characters greet guests although not shaking hands a few minutes before.
