Where is the best sushi?

I was very disappointed with the California Grill. The sushi was just ok and their soy sauce was watered down. For the amount of money I paid it wasn't worth it. We stopped at a McDonald's on our way home because we were both still hungry. I haven't had any other sushi at the world so I can't help you there, but I personally wouldn't eat sushi at CG again. GL with your search!

I thought the Spicy Tuna Roll at Japan in Epcot was excellent!

Loved Kimono's at the Swan. I enjoyed the sushi rolls at Kona's, too. I've never tried CG. Swan is very close to BC. Easy walk.

We think Cali Grill is OK. When we went last year our service was VERY rushed.

We like Wolfgang Puck's Cafe a little better, I think. They have a big sushi sampler platter that is nice.

We will have to try Kimono's!

Kimono's is the best on property IMHO.
Japan comes in a close second.
CG a distant third. I just haven't been impressed with it, especially with the price you pay.

IMO California Grille is the best sushi on property, but I've always found that if you don't like the selection (a PP said they thought it was a little limited), you can request other things and they'll make them for you (if they have the ingredients!) You do pay extra for this though, and it can add up real fast!!!

My problem is that I really don't like CG anymore - we used to love it, and DH used to work at the Contemporary so we went a lot, but for the price you pay, it's too noisy and rushed...and around fireworks time, they seem to let just about anyone up there and it gets so crowded!

It's been years, but I had a very nice time at WPC. DW and DDs wanted to shop at DTD, so I stopped in at Puck's, sat at the bar to eat a bit of sushi and had a couple of very nice Japanese draft beers. I'm not sure that the bar is still there, but it was a great way to kill an hour or so.:earsboy:

Keep in mind Kimono's is a sushi bar wirh Karaoke. No ressies and can get loud!

My favs for sushi are Kimono
Tokyo dining - love the dynamite roll, great textures

CG was just all right, not great the night we were there
pucks USED to be awesome, last time, was adequate at best :(

You've convinced me! :thumbsup2

I'm looking at the Disney restaurants website, and the page for Kimono's doesn't seem to have a way to book an ADR online. Do I call Disney Dining or the Swan directly to get a table?

I have never made a reservation for Kimonos, but I am sure they must take them. I would call the Swan or 407-wdwdine

We always enjoyed the Karaoke, but now it does not start till 9:30pm. We don't usually eat that late.

I've never eaten sushi and want to experience it for the first time while I'm in Florida - could you tell me what a beginner should try (not a big fish eater) for their first experience? I'm thinking we'll hit Kona's for the karaoke and sushi. I also think I'll be the only one who will try it out of our party so is there other "american" food the others can order?

For the first time try a California Roll, If you like shrimp have ebi. Also look at the menu and think about seafood you would eat cooked then experiment.

Enjoy.

I love Sushi and tonight was my second time having it at Kona's sushi bar. It was very, very good!!! The Volcano Roll is something that every Sushi lover must have. For one....the plate presentation is beautiful, but even better than that...it tastes amazing.

I wouldn't rule out Kona's sushi if you love sushi :lovestruc
