Where is the best spot for wifi on the Wonder?

My DD is doing the Disney College Program in February at WDW. Dorm parking passes open up while we are on her graduation cruise. Getting a parking pass is like getting a virtual queue for Guardians.

We are buying the premium package. Where is the best place to get the best internet speed onboard the Wonder? Up on deck 10, staterooms, atrium?

She will be trying at 6 am PST. Thanks!

Is there anyone she trusts to do it for her? We found Wi-Fi was terrible recently on the Wonder. Multiple minutes just to try to load a webpage.

I second this suggestion.

Barring this option my suggestion is to go around the ship the day before and check WiFi usage in several spots. I've had staterooms that had good wifi, I've also had staterooms that didn't even get enough signal to run the DCL app at all. I'd suggest trying the atrium on deck 4 to be out of the hustle.
Last thing, I'd kindly explain the situation and ask a few friendly crew members where the best signal is. They live on the ship. They are gonna know.

Is the Wonder even on the new WiFi system yet? Last I had seen it was the only ship remaining on the old system, which if it still is on, I would not count on it for anything.

Wifi was horrible on our 18Dec -23Dec2022 cruise. We were Concierge and it was even poor up there in the Concierge Lounge. I was hoping that it would be better and possibly the newer system but it sucks. I had some business to conduct a couple times and just needed pretty basic web based stuff and email and it was bad.

Cove Cafe used to be decent, but since they built the Concierge lounge on 2 level of Cove Cove it appears to have killed that.

I would try either the 4th or 5th in atrium area to get the best but its a crap shoot. Disney needs to do better.

Yes we go on cruises to get away from work, and relax, but we all know as soon as you are out of contact the stuff hits the fan. I owna small business and no matter how much planning goes into the prep for me to be gone...that planning changes as soon as the ship leaves the the port that first night.

We had better service when in port. Ensenada and Cabo both had better service. I just started using my phone and hot spotting it and got through.

We are going the Dream 9night out of Barcelona in the Med in June 2023 hoping for some better service.

Wonder dec 8-11 was terrible wi fi. Slow and the cost absurd. The newer ships newer wi fi and packages far and away better. I wouldn’t count on Wonder wi fi until they change over. As previous poster said, the Ensenada port was a little better.

It is not. The Wonder still has the old per MB WiFi.

I was on the Wonder back in November. The Wifi pricing is atrocious and was one of the only drawbacks of my entire cruise. They still charge per MB like it's 20 years ago and the reception for it wasn't the greatest. Wonder Wifi.jpg

This might not seem like a big deal to most, but I have heard how big a deal this is. I would do everything I could to find someone you trust on land to make it happen. You can always change passwords and everything up on your return so people don't have too much access to her info. Are these done on the hub? There is no real sweet spot on that ship for internet.

Update: Just returned from the Wonder. Yes, it is still the old MB package purchase. I thought I read that the Wonder had been upgraded but it had not. Fortunately, DD was able to get somebody back home to get her parking pass! On another note, FYI somehow Snapchat works on the ship with the DCL Guest internet. DD was able to use it on our 2 sea days.

I agree. We were on the Wonder last week and got the pay as you go wifi. It was awful.

Yes, it is a big deal because parking is limited on the DCP. DD had her car last year and it made all the difference in the world. She was able to get a friend who hopes to participate in the DCP program this fall to help her out. The passes are done through the dorms website. She was successful!

Will you be at sea on the day in question? If not you may be able to use mobile data on your DD's cell phone to access the web site. If your cruise is on the west coast and you are not at sea you may very well be arriving at a port at 6 AM putting you in cell phone range.

Unfortunately, we weren't close enough to Ensenada to use our wireless service at 6:00 AM.
