Watch the parade??

We've watched the parades from almost every location imaginable. Usually we make our decision based on where we are in the park and where we want to go after the parade is finished. If you're planning on staking out a spot early, I'd recommend Main Street. There you can grab a sweet treat or do some shopping/browsing (as long as someone in your party is keeping your spot).

More often than not we end up watching the parade closer to IASW and Matterhorn. It's less crowded overall, and you're not fighting the crowds afterwards!

I used to watch it from an area right in front of the teacups next to the Matterhorn, which worked when it wasn't too busy.

During the holidays, I found an area beside IASW that worked when it was crowded. It's on the steps closest to the gates where the parade started/ended. It's directly above were the people who took the tour got to sit in chairs. You really have no one in front of you because of the height advantage, and if the parade starts in Fantasyland, you can make a quick exit after for rides.
