Where is the Mickey Statue in the lagoon at Castaway Cay?
I've heard that you can just ask the Lifeguard at one of the stands where it is but I'd like to know in advance a general location so I can figure out whether or not my DS(9) and I can make the swim.

It's almost as far out as you can go, to the left side of the lifeguard. We had to dive down in about 8-10 feet ??? It's near the red buoy. The water was a bit choppy the day we were there, so I'd suggest being a fairly strong swimmer.

Before you get into the water at the snorkeling lagoon there is a map that shows you were the Mickey statue is as well as some other markers. There are then bouys in the water to help you locate these.

Its a LONG swim out there, and a LONG swim back. A nine year old who is a good swimmer might be able to make it.

I'm not going to sign up for the snorkeling program but was wondering if you can still get a map somewhere?

Guess I didn't make myself clear. It isn't a paper map like a park map. It is a map on a sign right at the water's edge. It shows where things are in the snorkeling lagoon and they are marked by numbered bouy's.

Hope this helps.

we did this and even with looking at the map sign befor hand we still needed to ask a lifguard we found the submarine easy and as posted earlier its a very long swim out and back even with the life vest on ( you wont drown ) its lots of work I swam it with my two teenages sons it was more of a work out for me they are both on the school swim team I'd say try it you'll have fun and memories with your child

I was looking for the mickey statue on 4/10. It used to be by the "B" marker, but that marker was blocked off.

There were only two red markers "A" and "B". Almost the whole red marker area was off limits. I wonder if they were having problems with the waves and the rock retaining wall. Since the new limit line was a good 50 feet off the rocks.

the swin is worth it and we found it. we even got a great picture of me with it. i was a good swim but well worth it. and yes by bouy B

We found the Mickey statue while snorkelling in March with our 7 yr old daughter. You need to follow the "advanced" snorkel trail in order to locate Mickey, but it was well worth the swim out. Our DD tells everyone about finding the "Golden Mickey":)
