We have a lunch ressie at Le Celleir at 2.50. My DD 4 is at GF for the Alice tea party 1.30 to 2.30. 2.50 was the only ressie we could gete. The CM said we would have time to get on the Monorail from GF to Epcot.

My question, where is Canada ? How far from the enterance is it ?

Ive heard there is often a wait, so Im hoping we will be OK

Any thoughts please?

Simon thank you SO much, the map is fab!!! :thumbsup2

Now seeing you are in the "know" please can you advise me where Soarin and The Turle Crusher show is.???

Thank you the DIS is soooo useful and QUICK :sunny:

Hi Linda :wave2:

Soarin is in the Land Pavillion in Future World, basically when you enter Epcot and pass Spaceship Earth you will need to go right. You will then see the Land Pavillion - Soarin is fab my favourite ride. To the right of the Land Pavillion is the Living Seas, this is where you will find Crush ....

Hope this helps

I think it is extremely unlikely you would get from GF to Le Cellier in 20 minutes if going by monorail. For a start you will have to change monorails at the TTC and then the journey to Epcot is a good 15 minutes. I doubt you would do it in less than 40 minutes unless you take a taxi when it probably would be do-able.

emm this is what I was worried about...............

do you think I could get away with asking the reception aat Gf to ring Le Celier and expalin we will be a little late? I dont mind going from lunch to dinner menu. I dont want to take someone elses place, however 2 lots of freinds who ate there last month, who were both on time for thier 1.30pm and 2.45pm ressies, didnt actually get seated till at least 30 minutes AFTER.

Perhaps I should try and swop the alice tea party???? Decisions decisions!

Thanks

Hi Jules :wave2: :yay:

I wouldn't rush. I recall a longer than expected wait once after booking an ADR, so I'd move over when you are ready. If you have an ADR you will get seated.

I also think that 20mins from GF to Epcot on the monorial is not possible :(
Taking worst case (as it always is when you are in a rush!), you will need to get from the tea party to the resort monorail station, wait for the resort monorail, stop at MK, stop at the Contemporary Resort, get off at the TTC to change monorails, wait for the Epcot monorail, travel to Epcot, get off the monorail at Epcot, wait in line for the security bag check, wait in line to enter the park and then walk all the way to Canada.
I would say you would be lucky to do it in an hour!

If you take a taxi then it may quicker to go to the Beach Club and then enter Epcot through the International Gateway entrance. The walk from the Beach Club to Canada is probably very similar to the walk from the Epcot main entrance to Canada, but the lines for security and the turnstiles may be shorter.

I wouldn't rely on having to wait for your ADR time, we only had to wait 10-15 minutes on Christmas day for dinner, it all depends on when a suitable table becomes available for your party size.

I agree with Tim - you'd be lucky to do that journey inside an hour. Potentially it could be 15 minutes from leaving the Tea Party before you even get away from the Grand Floridian (if you get unlucky and just miss a train). The stop at MK isn't usually too long, but the one at the Contemporary always seems to take forever for some reason. As Tim's already mentioned, you've then got to change trains at the TTC, get into the park and walk to the restaurant.

I was also going to suggest getting a taxi to the Beach Club (the closest resort to the International Gateway). You can be dropped off right at the door of the Beach Club, walk straight through the lobby, out through the garden, hang a left on the walkway which takes you directly to the International Gateway. You'd have to be really unlucky to have a wait at the turnstiles there (unless a Friendship Boat has just unloaded :teeth: ). You enter World Showcase between France and the UK. Turn left and walk directly through the UK. Canada is the next 'Country'. Walk past the pavilion and you will see a garden with an arched entrance - this is the path to Le Cellier.

The whole point of ADRs is that there is no table reserved for you (that way no shows don't have any impact). Instead, you are assigned the next available table for your party size after you check in at the podium. When you make one, you are advised to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ADR time. That can often mean that you are actually seated ahead of your ADR time. If you are 10 minutes late for your ADR, they won't turn you away. Having said that, I'm not sure I could be doing with all the stress! :goodvibes

This sounds like the best idea. We ate at Le Cellier for lunch last week - we switched our plans that day and walked up without an ADR at 1.00pm - we waited only 5 minutes to be seated, even though it was pretty full - not bad going. It was also the best meal of our trip and really good service from Ali (Aliyyah) our server. It was one of the only meals we didn't feel rushed in our entire stay.

Bear in mind that at lunchtime the last seating is 3pm and then dinner starts from 4pm, as your reservation is at 2.50pm - right at the end of the lunch seatings, I wouldn't recommend being too late, for the sake of saving a $10 cab fare.
