Where is Jim Lewis?

A perfect fit, he likes bargain basement cheap crap as seen in the choice of furnishings for BLT, now he can be surrounded by substandard merchandise.

I love how these executives can be a total failure at something, yet still get hired on in other executive-level positions at other companies.

Maybe I'm obtuse, but I have a hard time understanding how experience at DVC could possibly be helpful in the retail sector.

I thought he might be up for Secretary for Homeland Security.

Was my salesman for VWL in 2001? I always thought my salesman was a guy named Jim Lewis, who I never, ever heard from again. Maybe I am mistaken and it was a different Jim. I can't imagine that he ever really sold contracts but the name is so familiar. Does anyone remember a salesperson named Jim something circa 2001? I guess if I dig up the docs I could find some indication who sold me my contract.

Actually, I find Wamart quality is fine for most purchases. It ain't Nordstrom, but then neither is its prices......a walmart fan

No, this Jim was never in sales for DVC.

Ooh, we all ought to stop in his office next time we go to WDW. Wouldn't he love to see all the DVC members he screwed?

I always find this amazing also.

Walmart has no clue what they are getting themselves into. My prediction,
he will last 3 years then given a golden parachute to leave.

I agree. And who knows what his buyout from DVC was.

Great, my DD works for Wal Mart...from his previous experience at DVC he tends to be VERY difficult to work for if you are not a part of his regime. There are many folks within DVC who can tell you some stories about his management style...most NOT good. Hope he stays just in the Florida region...guess we won't be moving to the lovely state of FL now...dang nab it!!!

I love the gloss of the article...

"Disney badly underestimated the maintenance fees it planned to charge time-share buyers in Aulani....."

Jim Lewis had to sign off the on the accounting for the 33% lower than needed MF's in the first place - somewhere along the line, someone had to say... this doesn't add up!

Mistakes happen - but when you look at the record of disappearing benefits under Lewis - he was increasing profitability... but really angering membership.

Claire Bilby really did a lot to get back in touch with what members wanted.... AND expected from DVC. So I was sad to see her go! We were on the Dream in January when the change was announced in person. (We had read about the change earlier in the day, and wondered how they were going to make the transition....given the member cruise was embarking that day!)

Anyway - Jim Lewis was horrible for DVC, and while you do have to feel a 'little' bad for someone losing their job.... in a case like that.... it was time for early retirement.

So... for the residents of Central Florida... you can look forward to prices 33% lower than what they should be... so stock up now.... Wal-Mart may close for two months while they address their pricing strategy! :rotfl2:

Good Luck, Jim....... Good Luck, Wal-Mart! :crazy2:
